This definitely feels like something Studio Ghibli probably would've made back in the day. From its aesthetics to its message of environmentalism in regards to the balance between nature and technology, it feels like a mix of Castle in the Sky/Princess Mononoke mixed in with some more fantasy elements akin to the Grim fairy tales.

 

Nice, this is what I was aiming for in terms of tone/style.

I have one more October film to read and then I’ll just have the rest of November/December to finish up. Tentatively, my Top 25 should be dropped on Friday or Saturday.

I only have Sabrina and Pillars 2 left to read and then I'll be done with the year. My Top 25 will come tomorrow, which will have a fun game counterpart to it with a prize at the end.

You know, the reviews Wii Sports has received is all the more hilarious to me knowing that I was genuinely wanting to make something out of it...

 

Also, the amount of honorable mentions The Mona Lisa has received is pretty awesome to me! I didn't put as much effort into it as I did for other films, so I'm really happy about it!

This year, my Top 25 is gonna be a puzzle. Literally. Here is the list of films that made my #11-25 spots, in alphabetical order:

Now I'm sure most of you are fairly excited that one of your films made the list, but the fun has only just begun! These are your puzzle pieces. Your job is gonna be to try to find the spot where I placed each respective film within the #25-11 spots. There is a point system for this and it is the following.

 

3 points - for placing the film in the correct spot

2 points -  for placing the film at least one spot above or behind the actual placement

1 point - for placing the film within 2 or 3 spots above or behind the actual placement

0 points - for placing the film more than four spots above of behind the actual placement

 

So let's say "Up The Butt" was in the #11 spot. If you place it at #11, you get 3 points. If you place it at #12, you get 2 points. And if you place it at #13 or #14 you get 1 point. Placing it at #15 or more behind means you get 0 points. Theoretically, everyone should be able to get a few points out of it.

 

There will be a similar challenge for this for the Top 10 although I'm not gonna reveal that yet. As I mentioned yesterday, there will be a prize for the winner, which I will reveal at the very, very end.
