Heretic
BFG is looking very busy today, way busier than Star Trek actually. Perhaps it's going to break out. Edited July 22, 2016 by Heretic

How's Pets doing this weekend? Still on track for 32-33m pounds total by end of run or are we seeing a drop/spike?

It still has a lot of showtimes so they must still be expecting good business. Weather has been good this week and this weekend looks hot too so drops may be bigger than expected, but I'd say its still on track for that figure, unless it randomly fizzles out. Looks like The BFG is going to do better in the UK than the US although not surprising as Dahl is more revered here than other countries and eOne marketed it really well. I'll agree about the Dahl effect, but not on the marketing, it felt really off to me. Surprised it broke out though. Shame it couldn't happen like this to Fantastic Mr Fox, that's the best film based on Dahl's work.
Heretic
Dory will put a dent in BFG's run next week, but I'd say it has a good chance at £20m now with 6 weeks of school holidays.
Krissykins
Nice to see Ghostbusters maintained its lead all week and held well on Friday.
PhilipJ2001
Any figures for BFG? We're having a really good weekend with it, somewhere between Zootropolis and Jungle Book for us. If that translates nationwide it should be about 6 or 7 million
Heretic
That would be an incredible start, I'm not expecting more than £5m, which would already be way bigger than I expected. Edited July 24, 2016 by Heretic
PhilipJ2001
maybe we're overperforming with it. it is perfect for our local demographics

Heretic
Quote Ian Sandwell @ian_sandwell 47m47 minutes ago The Secret Life of Pets adds estimated £1m for £27.8m after five weeks in play in the UK. So another £2.1m added over the past 7 days. All children are on summer break now, so this week it should play well, until Friday when Dory arrives. I'd say it can manage a fair few more million to reach the low 30s.

Jonwo
Looks like The BFG dented Pets and Dory will likely dent it as well.
