A Marvel Fanboy
25% bigger opening than TA, 25% bigger total.
Heretic
25% bigger would be a £19.8m opening...I think it could beat TA's 4 day opening of £15.8m though. I also see it beating it. But it'll be close. TA did £52m. TDKR will fall into the £50-55m range aswell most likely.
JCS
Yeah we will have to wait and see how much the Olympics will affect the BO, it will make or break TDKR's legs.
Heretic
Well, the opening ceremony doesn't seem to have fazed IMAX bookings at least. But Imagine it will have a big effect. It'll probably break the tv ratings record.

The massive influx of tourists may boost BO takings as well.
lukey
Just got back from BFI IMAX. TDKR was amazing again and the IMAX scenes were incredible. They showed an amazing 3 minute IMAX exclusive trailer for Skyfall. It was so good it even got a round of applause.

The Dark Alfred
Official number: Fr-Sat tally £10.2. Be back with full weekend report later.
Olive
OW should be around 14.5M GBP, a little less than I expected.and my BSG is skewed.
Heretic
Hmm, £10.2m does seem a bit low...
Jonwo
For a 2D film at almost three hours, its a good result, I think it should great legs and will benefit from summer weekdays.
JCS
Does seem a low OW indeed considering it is TDKR. Hopefully the atcual weekend result will be higher so £15M+ at least. Edited July 22, 2012 by JCS
Heretic
It's fantastic, but going by reports, and also RTH, I thought it would be over £11m already.

The Dark Alfred
Don't forget that it didn't have midnights, just 5AM showings.
SchumacherFTW
There was a queue when I left my showing this afternoon, but there were only 70/80 in my 1pm show though. Could have been depressed by 'pirate day' in the next town over where they broke a record for most pirates in one place, abd had a big red arrows display too. Heretic
Or the weather. First warm day I can remember in weeks. I think it's going to have quite a big impact all week. We're expecting 30 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday and high 20s for the rest. Hasn't got anywhere near that since May. And ofcource, once again, people will be taking advantage. Hatebox
I'm not usually one to use the weather as a variable for box office, but after literally weeks of rain this sudden bout of good weather doesn't bode too well for TDKR. But if people want to see it, they'll still see it.
