Fake
Or maybe it will drop after OD like in NA.
Heretic
I don't think so. Saturday pre-sales are also looking very strong. 15:45 showing at Leicester Square is almost gone, and daytime shows have higher pre-sales than comparable Friday daytime right now. Obviously walk ups will be big too.
CJohn
UK box office continues insane. Jesus.
Jonwo
Les Mis is much loved in the UK so it was always going to do great business but it'll be interesting how it fares against Django, ZDT and Lincoln. I imagine it'll be number 1 next week even with the release of Django which at best will do £2-2.5m
JCS
Django which at best will do £2-2.5mAfter beloved IB and boost, at least £3M I think for Django OW!
SchumacherFTW
Just found my local Cineworld has assigned seating so I can see how busy shows are. I just booked for Midday on Saturday, and it's already half way sold out!!!! This is awesome! There's also only 13 seats left for Saturday's 8pm showing. Heretic
Les Mis is going to sell out all shows tonight. Every show from 6ish to 9 around my area are already all full up.Glasgow cineworld has sold out until half 10 tonight!
Heretic
The Hobbit is probably going to fall quite hard this weekend. It's lost quite a lot of screens and IMAX is gone too.
BenedictL11
Good news for Les Mis but bad news for the Hobbit.
SchumacherFTW
I think The Hobbit's been cancelled at my local Cineworld on favour of another Les Mis show tonight to bring it up to a total of 3 screens. Tomorrows pre-sales are mental, it'll sell out all 6 screenings tomorrow with ease.
Heretic
I hope this comes close to £10m.Should be seeing it tomorrow night if I get round to pre-booking those tickets.
SchumacherFTW
I booked mine for yesterday for a midday showing and it was already half sold out, insane in my opinion!
Heretic
Yeah. I haven't seen pre-sales this strong since Skyfall.I can't believe Leicester Square. I hope RTH provides with some figures for that because it's DEFINITELY going to be the leading cinema this weekend.
SchumacherFTW
No which way about it, I think £200k is acheievable at OLS. Is £10m realistically doable this weekend?
Heretic
No which way about it, I think £200k is acheievable at OLS. Is £10m realistically doable this weekend?I'm not sure it has enough shows. Film like Skyfall, Twilight and The Hobbit all had probably double the amount of shows this has....but because of this it's selling out everywhere. So maybe. I don't expect under £8m either way. SchumacherFTW
I'm just loving this though, when have we had a January launch this big? It's awesome!
Heretic
This is definitely the biggest January opening ever. In fact...I can't think of a film that'll open higher until Iron Man 3.
SchumacherFTW
I think you're probably right Heretic. Is there actually anything that could break £6m before then?
Heretic
I don't think so. Oz is a potential if it goes down a similar route to Alice, but that remains to be seen. Die Hard maybe... Die Hard 4 opened to £5m.Nothing else really. WIR will do well in half term but that's more about the legs. SchumacherFTW
How much did Tangled launch with, because I think WiR could get pretty close to that. It's got more adult interest than Tangled, and it's the first family film since Rise of the Guardians, though a case could be made for Life of Pi.
