Heretic
Twilight opened right near Christmas though...this has IMAX which should give it a bit of a boost. Anything over £5m is great.

A Marvel Fanboy
That is quite decent for THG.
Robertron
So it looks like THG has the same predictions for its openings in both the UK and AUS - general consensus around $8m.
SchumacherFTW
THG has: 1 screen at my local 4 screen odeon2 Screens at my local 6 screen CineworldAnd 4 screens, one of which is a Liemax, at the 15 screen cineworld in Crawley that i'm going to on friday morning. 4/5m i'm thinking. Would love it to go higher, but I haven't seen anything here that means I should suspect otherwise.
PhilipJ2001
pre-sales seem really slow for THG at all the cinemas in my area :/
Heretic
Hmm really. They're really good in my area. Thursday night previews around me are all quite full-up.
Heretic
I hope the weather doesn't effect the gross. It's been really warm recently, and this weekend is meant to get even warmer.
CJohn
It will have a very solid OW in both UK and Australia.
SchumacherFTW
Wtf, my local Odeon's started Pre-booking Streetdance 2! They can't honestly be expecting lightening to strike twice can they?!

Jonwo
Streetdance 2 is going to get crushed by Wrath and Pirates! I wouldn't be surprised if it is only number 4 or 5.As for Hunger Games, a £5-6m OW including previews would be good, I don't expect it to do bigger numbers until Catching Fire in 2013. I think the fanbase needs to build up before we can expect the Potter/Twilight numbers.
Heretic
Cinemas around me are looking pretty strong this evening for THG, especially the two IMAX screens near me..they close to selling-out. Looks like walk-ups are the big thing for this because pre-sales weren't that strong. I'm hoping for minimum of £5m ($8m).
PhilipJ2001
i'm told it only did around £400,000 yesterday
Heretic
Most cinemas only had one showing in the evening...so I'd say that's actually pretty good.

Jonwo
I think most of the business will be this weekend, it wasn't advertised as starting on the Thursday and it was evening performances.I think The top five next week will be Pirates, Wrath of the Titans, Hunger Games, BEMH and Streetdance 2, The Pirates! has been really pushing the advertising whereas surprisenly Wrath hasn't had much apart from TV ads. Heretic
Nearly half a million from one-show sneak-peaks is impressive I think. That would put it on track for at least £1.5m today and £2m tomorrow. Walk-ups have been good tonight near me. Most shows were pretty full. DeeCee
So the UK and Australia are looking at fairly similar totals. Looks like the UK is underperforming a little bit.
