reddevil18
Guys, do a favor to yourself and go see Edge of Tomorrow. Heard good things about it, and I gotta admit, seeing the trailer on the big screen, before DOFP made me excited. I may check it out, but it's only playing at 8:20 PM for a week, as early screenings, until the 6th, and I don't feel like getting home at midnight, taking into account the drive. rockNrollaDIM
I saw a lot of UKers complaining about sell outs on Twitter yesterday.
Heretic
Yeah, I saw quite a few. Rth, any numbers?
Heretic
Ian Sandwell @ian_sandwell 2h More Maleficent takes over £1.5m on its opening day in the UK. Who needs advance reviews?! Excellent opening day, that's around $2.5m, which means it should be heading for at least $9m.
Jonwo
Didn't think Maleficent would do so well,it'll probably be lower today but its heading for a great five day opening.
Fake
$10M 5-day looks possible. With that it can do 25M+.Pretty good.
SchumacherFTW
FUCK ME! Screw it, that's the OD of the year so far. Only thing that could beat it would be £2m for 22 Jump Street.
Heretic
22 Jump Street is gonna be huge. Yesterday at my sold out X-Men show it got by far the best reaction.
CJohn
I am waiting for the day when I come here and I read someone saying that a blockbuster underperformed or bombed in the UK. Everything just seems to do huge numbers. EDIT: I hope that day isn't with EoT. Edited May 29, 2014 by CJohn

Jonwo
22 Jump Street should at least do double the OW of the first film, it's basically the last big film coming out before the World Cup.

I'm sorry CJohn, but I will try to bump the gross up by seeing it at done point this week.
Heretic
EoT is gonna get overshadowed by X-Men and Maleficent double whammy.

I only read its "HUGE", " never seen lines as big as this" etc. Hope this continues for sure
Jonwo
EoT is gonna get overshadowed by X-Men and Maleficent double whammy. TBH I think EoT was doomed no matter where it was slotted, next week it would have been hit by 22 Jump Street and late June and early July would be hit by Transformers and DOTPOTA. A Million Ways I think will be lost as well, the World Cup means everything is being packed into 1-2 weekends,
Heretic
DOFP and Maleficent are killing it this evening. Shitting on new openers.
