Assuming 18m in thursday previews (Black Widow was 2nd highest at 13.2 m, NWH was at 50m)

if it follows Eternals internal multiplier (IM) = 132m OW

If it follows Shang-Chi IM for FSS= 153m OW

If it follows Venom 2 IM = 140m OW

If it follows BW IM = 109m OW

Avg = 133.5 m and probably higher since BW had Premier Access eating up its OW

Keep in mind some demand will be burnt off on Tues/Wed and previews start at 3PM on Thursday. Both will drop the IM.

If $18M was the number, I’d expect $105-125M.

~7x from an inflated preview for a relatively adult-skewing supehero? Doubt it.

105/18 is less than 6x, that’s why it’s a range.

Yeah but I think the upper end is a bit unlikely if "previews" are just 18. Would go for 95-115 in that case.

I'm kinda thinking that the late review/reaction drop has depressed sales though. I think it'll have a strong final week to finish at more like 23 for an OW in the mid-130s.

Pretty much my feelings right now. In my club, I had the OW at $137M off $22M previews.

When you guys are talking about the preview number for this is that just Thursday or does that include the fan screenings as well?

Including Tuesday and Wednesday shows.

Thanks. That's what I thought but I just wanted to make sure.

Sales at my theater are dwarfing anything not called NWH, and most of the prime evening shows Thursday are going to be gone by early next week. If we get great reviews I think $22-25 is very likely.

Social media reaction embargo for Japan has already lifted. Lots of positive reactions, something that's repeated a lot from the people that watched is that they'd like to see it again. Promising so far.

Wonder if  it is gonna do as good as joker in japan

for reference joker is the highest grossing dc movie by a huge margin

1.9x compared to constantine who's number 2

Critics? What are they saying?

Japan preview screening attendees (February 22)

@yayu1424: I watched The Batman in a preview. It was the most violent and most beautiful Batman of all time. Gotham exists, making Batman think. I was hit directly in my brain. Please go to see it at the same time as it is released. [Source]

@inugamikorone: Today was the preview for THE BATMAN! 💗 Batman with the sunset in the background looks so cool... The camerawork was so intense😲😲😲 The movie made the 3 hours seem so short! I'll go watch it again when it comes out 😳 [Source]

@shirakamifubuki: Thank you so much for inviting me to「THE BATMAN」preview🙏 This is the kind of Batman Shirakami wanted to watch😭 The story really felt that way!!! The sound and directing were amazing, and a little sad, And the powerful theme song is impressive... 🦊 [Source]

@syavengers_s3: I was invited to the preview of The Batman. This is it! Batman! A story that draws you in so quickly that you can feel it for about 3 hours. Above all, the charm of each character stands out, and I want to see more!! I think!

@hakuikoyori: A solid and profoundly mysterious story ... it was awesome. The music and camera work are great, this is a movie to watch in the theater!

@cgbeginner: With a rather dark style, I was able to enjoy the revenge-obsessed Batman (Robert Pattinson) and the chaotic Gotham City!

@LaplusDarkness: Not to mention the content of the movie itself, the part I especially liked this time was the battle scene! It was really the best production, and I was desperate to suppress the fact that I was about to make a sound. I wanted to see it again in the theater!

@swinder8931: I can't spoilm but the cast is too good ... Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz) is full of bewitching charm, Colin Farrell is a gangster who no longer knows who he is, and Paul Dano gives the most lively and fun performance of his career.

@deadpootarou: This time Batman is a really dangerous person if I make a mistake, but ... the most local love of Batman so far ... I'm full of love for Gotham! I don't need words, I'll tell you what the true kindness is! With a face punch!

@kaibashiran: I watched it in the preview, it was interesting. There are so many different types of black that it's so beautiful that it's full of black! Also orange and blue. The roaring sound of the chase also vibrates. It feels good to be hungry. In a good way, it doesn't look like a superhero movie. Dark mystery.

@cha_ichiro: I've seen it in the preview of The Batman and it's pretty sharp ... and my heart is still in GOtham City, which turned into New York in the 70s. Impressions at a later date.

@Woman77Wonder: I won't touch on the content, but I also want to see a Batman movie like this! It was a work that fulfilled. Even if you plan to repeat, we recommend that you enjoy the first watch in a well-equipped theater.

@THE_SEAN_1: Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson's new Batman unravels the mystery of the incident. This suspense-flavoured film is exactly the origin return movie of Detective Comics! Anyway, I want everyone to see it! I'm absolutely satisfied.

@S_hand_S: I've watched it, so I'll write my impressions tomorrow! I enjoyed seeing the new Batman.
