Jamiem
Those holds are great, it’s too bad Domestic and China didn’t come to play this weekend or we could be close to $200m right now 😢
charlie Jatinder
I am thinking of $125.5mn till Sunday. Let's see. Anyways, the breakdown for FSS is something like China: $30mn / $30mn Europe: $15.6mn (-31%) / $64mn Asia/ANZ: $5.8mn (-33%) / $24mn Russia: $2mn / $2.5mn Middle East: $1mn (-41%) / $5mn Total: $54.5mn / $125.5mn China is mostly going to add another $20mn or so unless second weekend hold are better than Dunkirk. Europe can add $45-55mn more for something like $109-119mn. Asia/ANZ looks like $13-15mn more for $37-39mn. Russia am thinking $6.5-7.5mn full run. Middle East perhaps $10mn, that may happen in just Saudi alone FWIW. That gives $212-226mn in markets it has been released. There is Japan, Latin America and few Asian markets still remaining, but they won't do more than $50mn. So about $260-275mn Approx. That China under performance is really hurting. I was thinking $350mn can be breakeven, but US seems very weak to reach $75-90mn. Canada is pretty great at around $5.5mn ($60mn NA equivalent), but USA is iffish.
Jamiem
A real shame that the two biggest markets are the ones underperforming as you said it could have put up respectable numbers, still on the positive side of things those are some great holds in Europe and Asia.

charlie Jatinder
17 minutes ago, Gavin Feng said: so beat Dunkirk is still on table or not? Dunkirk OS-UK is possible. Dunkirk did like 75mn in UK, that's definitely not happening. This will do more like $25mn. So excluding that $50mn, it will be around Dunkirk.

john2000
https://gower.st/articles/1-billion-dollar-box-office-in-august-speeding-up-on-the-road-to-recovery/ An essential component of the positive development during August was the meaningful increase of open cinemas in that period. By August 31, the market share of global cinemas open was at 72%, up from 48% at the end of the prior month. Large parts of the theatrical world are now open, APAC at 91%, China at 90% and EMEA at 85%. The Americas are still at a low level of open cinemas but progressing in big steps. The market share of open cinemas in LATAM increased from 8% to 23% over the last month. The Domestic market displays the greatest improvement, up to 50% from just 14% at the end of July. thats some very very good improvement in terms of reopening, the article is from 31 aug, so probably the % has increased , maybe ww market share is at 75-80% (65-70% of movie theaters open) by now ps idk if its usefull to you @charlie Jatinder Edited September 7, 2020 by john2000 1
