Day and Pike aren't even on the BAFTA shortlist  Pike makes more sense because the film is late breaking and was never really a priority for Netflix until now, but considering how Hulu has been campaigning Billie Holiday, Day missing the BAFTA shortlist bodes much worse. We'll see what happens.

We should've expected the Globes, who usually just nominate some messy choices in normal years, to pick some messy winners this year considering how off and unusual 2020/early 2021 has been for the entire movie industry.

All the male film acting categories went as expected, the actress categories on the other hand were wild.

The Globes must've felt no need to kick off the narrative of McDormand or Davis picking up another Oscar so soon after their recent wins and didn't care enough about Promising Young Woman to give it any wins (considering it went home empty-handed) to go with Andra Day in a biopic nobody cares about. Kirby was clearly last in that category and definitely the one most in danger of missing now among top contenders.
