Problem is "The exorcist" was a real shocker in 1973, people had never seen anything like that before.

But after  fifty years,the shockkng has become normal, and  movies which borrow the basic concepts and ideas  of the film are a dime a dozen. I wonder if the "Conjuring" movies..which is basically a sort of updating of the "exorcsit" have nto sort of stolen the thundre for this unless it is really really, good.

And I wonder if the "exorcist" franchise has the same meaning and appeal to the younger audience as it does for the older audience.A lot of the younger hooror fans have never watched one of the original Universal Horror movies, as an example.
