The Exorcist: Believer | Universal/Blumhouse/Peacock | October 13, 2023 | RIP William Friedkin

dont want to get too conspirantial, but the fact that this movie stars black people is probably for the best (as oppossed to being a neutral thing), hollywood might allow the movie to be somewhat religious because of it

saw Legion (a reworked edition of exorcist 3, havent seen the original, dont plan to, im just here for Blatty ) today, some of the things that are described in this movie are pretty cool, but overall it felt a little aimless, theologically speaking as well, and because of that, even it didnt have the boring moments 9th configuration had, I didnt appreciate it as much

bit dissapointed one of the actors did not return and it needed more father dryer

where was the all time great jump scare?

From The Numbers

New and Changed Releases - February 13, 2023

Universal’s Untitled Exorcist Film 1, originally scheduled for release on October 13, 2023, is now undated.

This is actually just some weird re-titling and configuring going on over at The-Numbers, they still have this Exorcist movie on their calendar.

Are you sure? Maybe with some late recasting they did its some reshoots and a delay?

Yes, it has happened before. An untitled movie gets a date. The same movie gets a title and announced on that date as if it's a separate thing from the original untitled movie. Then said untitled movie gets removed from the date.

Is this supposed to be a theatrical exclusive or a streaming hybrid ala what the Halloween sequels ended up being? Because Peacock has been mentioned in every news piece for this so far.

I might be misremembering but I think it was announced that the first film would be theatrical and then the next two would be straight to Peacock. That was during the height of the pandemic though, so you’d hope they’d go full theatrical now.

Really don't know how they're going to make a society that has in many ways moved on from religion, at least compared to what where it was back in the 1970s, care about this.
