You forgot that Endgame made it too. And Avatar. Remove China from their boxoffice and you still get over 2B.

I don't think those are the best comps. Endgame had a much bigger opening and Avatar was a different experience. Your better comparison would be TFA which did $1.944B without China. Adjusting to current ticket costs, that would be over $2B.

A chinese release would guarantee 2 billion imo, anyways still A HUGE overperformance nonetheless dom legs should be fun.

So we agree that 2B without China is possible. Doesn't matter what model. NWH has much bigger OW than Avatar but also leggy holiday stretch that Endgame didn't. Pretty good combo if you ask me. :)

I agree it's possible at this juncture, I just wouldn't bet on it. My expectation is $1.65-1.75B without China.

Oh for sure. Keep expectations lower and then celebrated when they are exceeded. Doesn't Deadline do it all the time? Oh wait, they just can't do the math!

I heard Endgame was top 18 of biggest presale in Japan,so I think nwh have a chance to enter top 10,for Japanese love for spiderman

If JJK doesn't go bonkers over there, maybe. Though Japan can always keep more than two movies on high run but if JJK ruled then, Spidey will not have bumper openings but it will have legs for sure.

Definitely Spiderman might find its way to TOP 10 all-time Japan, but that need a Social phenomenon or cultural relations in Japan. Other than it's just not like a JC movies. So, ¥10B should be the biggest bid, anything bigger than that will need a great house-house WOM, a lots of press ratings &theatrical benefits that Sony Japan does not practice. And in this case, we are talk about a number higher than ¥17.3B, to establish it's name at TOP 10 all-time

Hong Kong - 15m

Malaysia - 10m

Russia/CIS -  20m
Italy - 25m
Spain - 20m

Nordic Lands - 20m

Europe (As whole) = 220m+  [I expect this number to touch 250 or 275m here]

OS - China = 650m

Total - 1.35b+ (Without China)

I suppose - we can now add at least 50m to Domestic, 20m to Middle East, 25m to Asia and leaving Europe as it is... we looking at 1.45B gross at very least. Some Territories that will go over now what I predicted - Mexico, Middle East, Brazil, India, SEA and Dom itself.
