This is pretty good actually. It's still falling behind ATSV comp, but holding vs GOTG comp and even gaining on the Fast X comp

IMO, at least for Sacramento, the next Big Tell will be Sunday.  When I do my sample, it's at the end of the day so I start to see the initial signs of week-of release buying (haven't done a super deep check but my running theory is that starting at around 4pm to 6pm people start their buying plans for the upcoming week). 

 

Of FSS, Sat is usually (usually) the worst day, so perhaps a secondary indicator might be the Sat/Fri drop.  If there is one.

 

'course this tends to be fluid and lots of other variables in play, but for me at least I'll be keeping an eye on the Sat-Sun bump.

imo it's a little too late for any massive course correction ($100M probably off the table) BUT I could see it rebounding to $12M+ previews ; $90M OW

Friday sales are now below Oppenheimer 🙂

Pretty decent FRI sales. In case of Oppy those are just IMAX spillover so doesn’t really matter.

 

Indy is barely ahead of Trans for Previews but well ahead for FRI, that’s a good sign.

I genuinely wonder if Indy is going to follow Fast/TF/TGM trends in terms of presales rather than a CBM. I don’t really think this franchise has a huge rabid fanbase, especially since I think it’s going to skew much older than other blockbusters this summer.

Surprisingly strong sales today. 

 

That Fast X comp was 0.434x as of this morning for $3.25M. With the early show about to close , without further walk ups to the late show, its now at 0.700 of Fast X for $5.25M. That'll go up as well as I got final late show numbers. This is with Transformers only having one screen, compared to the two of Fast X.

 

This is one of the stronger walk up performances I've really seen. Maybe the smoke is pushing people to indoor activities. It's still only bringing this market closer to the standard.

 

I'll try and get final numbers at the end of the night.

 

Rise of the Beasts Friday Update

Milton, Ontario

 

Decided to check out the Friday sales. After Thursday had strong walkups, similar pattern emerged on Friday.

 

Final sales are 324, or 2.94x the Thursday total. Only evening shows, as schools are still in session, so there's no matinees.

 

As good as a night its having, ATSV is still doing better. It did double ROTB, and 0.702x of last (true) Friday. It would have done better, but it's second screen is a much smaller auditorium.

It's a bit early to hone in on a number but I feel like it can go higher than that especially in IM. The middle of run sales have not been quite that dire and as Jat said Fri is well ahead of Transformers.

Currently at 30 tickets sold for a nice and even 0.30x of Spiderverse for $5.1M. Very little movement this week, even with the review drop.

 

It's 2.50x Fast X for $18.75 M though. But Fast X was in the process of really accelerating in it's final week.

 

T-6 Thursday preview Flash Update

 

Milton, Ontario

 

I realize I'm tracking a single theatre, and, small samples produce anomalies, but, Flash has not sold a single ticket at my theatre since the review embargo. It's still at 30.

 

This is when it's comps were all starting to show movement, so, it's currently at:

 

1.071X Fast X for $8.0M

1.500x T:ROTB for $11.4M

0.248x ATSV for $4.3M

 

Both ATSV and Fast X were accelerating in the final stretch, so Flash should be growing at 10-20% per day to keep up right now. Rise of the Beasts was slower, but had the tremendous walk ups. It also stalled for a few days around this stretch, but, it had the late review drop as well.
