chimpo
Presales for FSOG are gigantic. Saturday is pretty much packed to the roof in all cinemas that I can see schedules. It's just insane. I think that interlock showing might start to show soon because demand is just insane. And all of those are sold tickets because it's the only possible choice so far. chimpo
Thanks for the numbers StarLord. I decided to do similar thing for 2 cinemas in Warsaw. Let's see what we've got. ( Not counting midnight showings because they have reservations available ) Multikino Targówek Friday - 18/15/11/21/64/32/143/180/155/108/257/181/86/12/53 Total: 1336 Saturday - 56/82/134/230/224/200/203/269/183/225/225/198/267128/208/180/107/117 Total: 3236 Sunday - 10/28/43/107/95/120/89/59/24 Total: 575 Total tickets: 5147 Multikino Zlote Tarasy Friday - 41/79/110/305/162/256/496/204/282/337/128 Total: 2400 Saturday - 192/436/287/630/265/311/248/688/257/306/228/492/194 Total: 4534 Sunday - 14/58/70/121/136/144/60/20 Total: 623 Total tickets: 7557 Both cinemas have already ~12.700 tickets pre sold. Sunday looks weak at this point but it will rise closer to the weekend when people will start making reservations. Friday and Sunday have still a lot of space to grow. Saturday is reaching 60-65% saturation at this point. Early showings still have many seats available and the same goes for late evening showings. I think that Targówek can reach 7-8k tickets for the weekend and 10-11k tickets. Edited February 8, 2015 by chimpo

norbar
Poland could be unexpectedly strong for this movie. It's not unexpected. Puritan countries do really well with sex movie. Ffs Gutek sold Nymphomaniac really well for their small budget. Hell they even sold Antichrist on sex and taboo. I say it opens to 700k viewers at minimum. They already supposedly presold 388k tickets. I know one woman cried when she couldn't get a ticket for saturday in one cinema. chimpo
388k already?! HOLY SHIT! Seriously, could this movie actually beat Shrek 3 OW record? Sunday is still slow compared to other days and I don't think it will be possible without it getting much better in next few days. Ok while I was writing this post I decided to check those two cinemas I had numbers for and in one day they pretty much sold like 1,500 tickets for the weekend. Saturday is pretty much 85% full at this point and only way to get even higher numbers is to add more showings. Kinepolis in Poznan has 4 almost sold out showings in 750 seaters and 2 60-70% showings in 750 on Saturday. I've never seen anything like this before in this cinema. In Zlote Tarasy they have almost sold out 3 showings in 777 seater and 2 are looking at atleast 500+ at this moment. Tomorrow they could be sold out. chimpo
Looking at showings in smaller cinemas and town everything is packed. I think that Top 5 OW of all time is locked. If they will manage to get more people on Friday and especially on Sunday then it might get really interesting. From this weekend I would really like to know what Saturday numbers will be for this movie. Honestly it looks like 350-400k is possible. Pypa94
Multikino Krakow is not so packed yet especially on Sunday but there are 4 others cinemas (Cinema City) and plenty of showtimes (only Hobbit had got more but it was 2D/2Ddubb/3D/3Ddubb/3DHFR)
chimpo
For Saturday they added new showings in Multikino Kraków because older showings are already packed and new ones are half full. I'm looking at Multikino schedule for all their cinemas on Saturday and they pretty much went all in with 50 Shades of Grey. They only kept Pinguins of Madagascar with 5 or 6 showings and Jupiter's Ascending has 3-4 showings. Multikino Targówek has just went from 18 to 27 showings on Saturday Multikino Zlote Tarasy just went from 13 to 20 showings on Friday. ( Saturday should be the same or even more ) Cinema City and Multikino has still many unlocked showings hidden. I think they will unlock them tomorrow when the whole schedule will be released for the weekend. Edited February 10, 2015 by chimpo

Remember that it's rare to have vallentines on saturday and last year a very shitty comedy did 190k viewers with a large majority of it came from valentines. So this? It should do at least hobbit numbers.
chimpo
Norbar I was talking about Saturday numbers alone. But if they keep adding showings on Saturday then I have no idea how many tickets they will sell. Saturday is pretty much a copy of Shrek 3 opening weekend when it comes to number of showings. But this time there is at least twice as many multiplex cinemas then it was in 2007. Edited February 11, 2015 by chimpo

chimpo
Well it has twice as many copies as Shrek 3 because there are way more multiplex cinemas then in 2007 and the ammount of showings is similar or even more than Shrek 3 had. 8 days ago there was an info that they had sold 230k tickets for 50 Shades of Grey and back then it had half of the showings it has now and they were mostly 30-40% full back then and mostly evening shows. Now Friday already looks better then Saturday 8 days ago and Saturday is a just unbelievable. The weakest part so far is Sunday but it's getting better, I'll do a comparison for Zlote Tarasy and Targówek so we will see how things changed in last 3 days ( it will be easier to count because now I will only need to count empty seats instead of tickets seats ) You can check Opole numbers today and I think they will be much bigger now.
