It needs around 600k admissions to win 2014 and it only needs to follow Hobbit 2 legs to do it from now on ( and those weren't that good ) Prediction: 2.2M+ Paddington had many early previews during Christmas-New Year time but still managed to open above 100k admissions, which means that there is demand for kids movies in the market. Should do very well until Penguins from Madagascar will open. Prediction: 500k+ NATM 3 hold was very good ( only -15%) and it should do well for next 2 weeks. Prediction: 350k+ Pani z Przedszkola - this local production is doing pretty well but next weekend could be it's last good weekend because bigger local movies will start their runs and will take the audience. Prediction: ~300k Snezhnaya koroleva 2 - it's having a decent run. Prediction: 180-200k Unbroken - very good start when you consider that it's shown only on 49 copies. Prediction: 100k+ Big Eyes - disappointing start Relatos salvajes - this should do well in art house cinemas for next few weeks. First time, since transformation in 1989, total ticket sales have passed 40 milion tickets ( 40,2 milion ). That is +11% up from last year and +2.5% up from last record. Total revenue was 725 milion zlotys ( +9% over last year ), which is around 210 milion $. Remember it's Gutek. They don't have the money for big campaigns so they will never open big but the movie will have long legs. If I remember right it dropped 17% for the next weekend. This one opened +20% over the OW of the first movie. It has a big chance to repeat success of it's predecessor. Legend of the NeverBeast - I have no idea how Disney is reaching girls for those movies but it's doing fantastic job because looks like another hit for this Straight-to-DVD series. And with kids out for next few weeks it should do some great business during week days. Taken 3 - really good hold. Should pass Taken 2 total in a week or two to become the biggest movie of this franchise in Poland. Hobbit 3 - it's doing way better then I expected and it will become No.1 movie of 2014 soon. Paddington - another good hold and with winter school break this should have good holds for next few weeks. It should end above 600k admissions. Exodus - it had a suprisingly good hold. Looks like 300k admissions might still happen. The Imitation Game - pretty good start but I have no idea how it will do in upcoming weeks. Last 3 movies on the list are holding strong. Tomorrow opening: Hiszpanka - a very big budget local movie that looks weird ( I predict it will bomb hard ), Carte Blanche - local movie, Birdman. Mortdecai, Seventh Son ( BTW the ammount of movie releases in January is ridiculous once again ) Oh and Pinguins of Madagascar have previews too.
