Olive
it would be stunning if Ted matches Hangover II's number.
IndustriousAngel
Stunning, indeed - let's wait for the weekend numbers. Atm it looks as if Ted breaks the Batman without breaking a sweat.

IndustriousAngel
I think it will; it's just that the Teddy is stronger than expected.
Fullbuster
What kind of final tally can we expect for TDKR in Germany? Most successful hero movie?
IndustriousAngel
No, that would be Hancock I believe with 3.8mil admissions in Germany compared to TDK 2.8mil. TDKR might surpass TDK but I don't see 3.8mil. Spiderman 3 had 3.1mil, that should be the goal.
lab276
Don't count Spider-Man? It sold just over 5m.
IndustriousAngel
ah ok thank you, I hadn't looked that far back - in fact nearly 5.2 million, fantastic for a SH film in Germany. Rudolf
If Asterix or Shrek do not count as SH no such in the top 100.
IndustriousAngel
Asterix is acceptable as a superhero spoof; the best-selling Asterix film is the animated "Les Douze Travaux d'Astérix" from 1976, 7.2 million admissions in Germany. It was the third Asterix film and ist still the best one imho (animated or real); it also had an original script. No other Asterix film before or after reached such heights. btw a new Asterix film is opening this fall; it combines the adventures in Britain with the Normans. The 4th reallife-film, and it will be in glorious 3D - you would think that with Goscinny's caricaturistic style an animated feature or mo-cap-film like Tintin would be the way to go, especially when they want 3D, but what do I know ... pinocchio
Blasphemy! Goscinny was the writer, Uderzo made the drawings. ;)He's colorblind by the way.
IndustriousAngel
aaargh my mistake ... sorry sorry sorry!first trend for germany btw sees Ted at about 700k, TDKR 525k, Brave 325-400k and IA4 275-350k.I'm not sold on Brave beating IA4; IA4 might have the better end. Really low opening for a Pixar film, I had thought it would destroy IA4.
Fake
Not good for Brave......
lab276
Gee, Brave really can't catch break. Still, it could go up.
IndustriousAngel
Rather down ... at my theater, IA4 has more presales than Brave despite Brave playing twice as many shows . I guess there are more walk-ins with children but if Brave can't beat IA4 on opening Friday, I can't see it winning the other days. Reviews have been mixed or lukewarm too. Still, it's only my theater, might look better elsewhere.
