IndustriousAngel
Yep, ok drop for Thor's big opening, but 2mil total will be difficult with this drop. Really really good opening for Blue Jasmine! And "Fack Ju Göhte" has the best start among german 2013 films, could have a chance for 3mil admissions. IndustriousAngel
Just sweet! Thor 2 opened higher than IM3 but its 2nd weekend will be lower - not a good sign. 2mil is out of reach with this drop. Poseidon
Just sweet! Thor 2 opened higher than IM3 but its 2nd weekend will be lower - not a good sign. 2mil is out of reach with this drop. Actually, Iron Man 3 opened on wednesday with tuesday previews, so you can't compare those 4-day numbers to be honest.
zackzack
Germany + Austria Top 13 Oct 31 - Nov 03 Good opening for Thor2 and Paganini, meh for "The Fifth Estate". Very good holds, too! Thor's reign at th BO will be shortlived since this week, german comedy "Fack Ju Göthe" should win. On a smaller scale, kid's movie "Das kleine Gespenst" and Woody Allen's "Blue Jasmine" open and should both end up inside the Top10. What is this movie? Why is it so popular? IndustriousAngel
It's a swap-over from TV comedy; the same team did "Türkisch für Anfänger" which opened do about 400k admissions last year and went on for a total of 2.4mil. Of course we can't expect a similar multiplier with this kind of opening but 3mil is nearly locked if the trend holds!
IndustriousAngel
Final weekend trend: Nearly the same as trend #2, really good weekend!

IndustriousAngel
The crazy thing about the opening of "Fack Ju Göhte" is that theaters and distributors obviously had no idea how popular it would be - I guess they based screen allocations on 2012's "Türkisch für Anfänger" and now they can't keep up with demand. Even afternoon shows here are packed, selling the first row seats which is really rare (we've got a lot of seats/capita). This would have opened to a lot more than 1mil admissions in a really wide release! - otoh, now there's room for an expansion next weekend and maybe no drop. Thor is fading fast after the big start, it's obviously not as well received as Thor1 was. It's purely anecdotical but I guess it's the ladies that are more critical of Thor2 - you can't catch them with pure action, there's got to be some emotions and that seems to be missing. Funny, all the ladies I know, including me, liked Thor 2 pretty fine, compared to some guys here, which are pretty critical of it. And IMO, Thor 2 has more emotion than Thor 1. zackzack
What does "Fack ju Göhte" mean ? What is the English name of the movie? Sounds like a play/pun on "F@*k You!"
A Marvel Fanboy
Sounds like a play/pun on "F@*k You!" that cant make a good title .... I need a decent and proper Chinese/English title about that movie.
IndustriousAngel
It's "Fuck You Goethe" (Goethe was about the best-known german poet), just spelt compleatley rong. It's a comedy about someone posing as a teacher with criminal intents ... and of course connecting with the kids like no other teacher (a bit like "Bad Teacher" or "School of Rock")
