charlie Jatinder
9 minutes ago, ThatWaluigiDude said: DEAPOOL & WOLVERINE T-1 PRE-SALES COMPS Despicable Me 4 (364%): R$9.8M Inside Out 2 (72%): R$12.8M GotG3 (636%): R$19.7M Oppenheimer (734.2%): R$16.9M Barbie (46.3%): R$10.5M Pre-sales have slowed down a little since last time I tracked. To be clear I am not sure anymore on a possible R$90M opening anymore despite the Guardians of the Galaxy 3 comp pointing at one. The comps with IO2 and Barbie points out to an opening on the R$70M range, what would still be insane mind out, and it would be a top 5 opening of all time. All in all, it will be a hard one to track since the 18+ rating makes it a little uncharted territory and makes the weekend legs really unpredictable. This is funny. In any other country, DM4 would have the highest comp but its lowest here. I think Barbie might be good enough. So like 10 + 10 + 12 + 18 + 15 = 65

UnapologeticKenny
I went yesterday and for the first time I saw teenagers under 18 not being allowed in the cinema (16 ~ 18 are allowed with a parent and no one under 16 can see it). Not even in the first 2 Deadpools I saw that. This will definitely limit the movie a bit. Edited July 25 by UnapologeticKenny

D&W had the best opening for a movie with a 18+ rating (and also compared to the 16+ movies). The opening was slightly above The Batman's R$45M and tied on admissions, and up the R$30M opening of Joker. Also managed a spot as the 10th best opening of all time. Deadpool is in a weird spot where the opening was stupid high but at the same time is ok to be disapointed giving initial expectations. The first day of pre-sales was 3x higher than Barbie only to open with a bit more than half of Barbie's opening. But at the same time remember how rare it is for a blockbuster to get a 18+ rating in Brazil. That rating is way more strict and did hurt the movie's true potential. Inside Out 2 lost quite a bit of screens and fell to third place, bellow DM4. It will probably still reach R$450M but I warn is not locked anymore. School vacations are over this week and we will see how this will impact both animated movies. Rest of the list was rough with everyone making space for Deadpool. Next weekend releases Tuesday, The Exorcism, Presença and the re-release of Estômago (Stomach). Edited July 30 by ThatWaluigiDude

Disney projected 10M for D&W in Brazil, the actuals shows 300K less (9.7M). Early projection on MX thread was 450M lc, then 370M, ended up being 352M lc. How how much this age restriction can affect D&W legs in Brazil?

There is 3 big trackers in Brazil, Ancine, Comscore and Filme B, this weekend I used the numbers from Comscore and it looks like this page is using Filme B. Sometimes these 3 might disagree, specially when the movie is going too big, and that is ok. Remember these are all estimates that will be adjusted later on. Anyway, when there is difference is rarely major.

ThatWaluigiDude
On monday Deadpool & Wolverine made R$6.5M and 290k admissions. One interesting fact about the weekend, 82% of all the box office for Deadpool came from dubbed screens. The movie is going incredible hard on dubbed.
