I prefer the world cup over movies

Me too. World Cup season is so fun. I've been looking forward to it.And if the movies are released during World Cup season then yeah, tough luck.

World Cup is the Holy Grail of sporting competitions for me. But the time difference this time will be a problem. The earliest starting matches will be late-night for me, which is not a problem but the later-starting matches will really late or early mornings. :(

Are you in the UK?

Yeah, it's kinda annoying, but it's the world cup. I'll stay up all night if I have to.

Brazil doesn't seem to be ready http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/26861776Infrastructures delayed, crime, lagging public transports..that could be mean negative brand image for Brazil. And people complain their government invests so much in a soccer event but no in health and education, areas where Brazil has ways to go..so protests could happen too.I heard hotel prices in Rio are atrocious.

The same thing is said in most big sporting events. It was the same with Sochi, south Africa, Athens etc., But in the end they seem to figure it out.

For the second time (after Japan-South Korea 2002), I will have a World Cup to watch at a normal time. Hate that most of the World Cups take place at bad times for almost all of Asia.
