$4.2M OD is unbelievable. Deadline reports its the 2nd biggest opening day ever for a WB film (behind only Batman V Superman). Could end up grossing more than Spidey this year!

It's actually good by how big OD was. 3x internal multi from the third best non-holiday opening is great.

Boom. $13.1M OW for Joker, that's about 255M lc (depending on the ER picked by WB, it's been fluctuating a lot).

 

Other totals:

• It 2 is now at $21.3M
• Abominable $4.1M (really disappointing)
• Ad Astra stalled at $3.5M.

Best for October, Fall and Rated B-15 (both in admissions and lc) and for a Warner release too.

 

EDIT. Despite inflation it also beats BvS as highest opening for Warner in admissions. Brutal!

 

Inflation has affected a lot but at least ER hasn't gone as bad as surges on ticket prices.

Wouldn't go that far yet. But beating It as highest grossing Rated B-15 title ever seems obvious.

As a comparison, Batman v Superman OW was 214.7M lc (3-day) and 316.6M lc (4-day - 50% of its total gross). Talk about front-loaded. In any case, WB must be a very happy studio with this result.

For an adult-oriented title this is massive. Purely insane to reach such height.

Santos payasos, Batman¡¡ With those numbers, there is a strong possibility "El Bromas" crosses 700M in the end. A good hold (50%) will send it above 520M for this weekend with another great week before Maleficent takes away some big theaters. I think at least it will surely cross the 636M of BvS:DoJ

 

Always great to have this kind of surprises.

 

What do you think for Maleficent? Can it open above 150M? 175M? 200M? Is anyone really expecting this sequel?

I'm just calling out highest grossing Rated B-15 title ever in just 10 days (Currently It at $491M). Ceiling is going to be interesting due its audience limitations.
