Purple Minion

Mexico Box Office | Garfield scratches great $8.4M 6-day OW; safe $2.5M start for The Fall Guy

$353M for Dominion. Need to check on previous F&F and DM titles but seems like it was the widest release ever for Universal.

-36.2% for Maverick and as @Purple Minion pointed out it increased on IMAX. Should get a nice boost keeping them for another week and a half.

Strange has crossed $800M to $802M. It seems like it'll end o/u first Avengers depending on how much its Disney+ release impacts.

What deal to allow TGM to retain its IMAX? Not even NA market allows TGM to have their IMAX screens during JWD release.

It happens often for OS markets but depends on both the studio and IMAX. There are titles that don't get IMAX treatment here but they do on DOM and vice versa.

I guess Universal just didn't want to have IMAX here, perhaps because of remixing for dubbing

TOP LOCATIONS SO FAR - 2022. NATIONWIDE

  1. Cinépolis Buenavista (Mexico City)
  2. Cinépolis Forum Tlaquepaque (GDL)
  3. Cinépolis Galerías Guadalajara (GDL)
  4. Cinépolis Plaza Río Tijuana (TIJ)
  5. Cinépolis Plaza Telmex (Mexico City)
  6. Cinépolis Playa del Carmen (CAN)
  7. Cineteca Nacional (Mexico City)
  8. Cinépolis Perisur (Mexico City)
  9. Cinépolis Sendero Ixtapaluca (Mexico City)
  10. Cinépolis Plaza Aragón (Mexico City)

Pandemic really affected Perisur and Universidad which went from No. 1 and 4 respectively in 2019 to No. 8 and 22 these days. Buenavista has kept itself in Top 3 since its opening 10 years ago. Locations like Playa del Carmen and Cineteca Nacional (only non-Cinépolis location in Top 30) have rised way beyond expectations compared to 2019.

Surprised not to see any theatre from Monterrey in the Top 10, is it because there is a saturation of screens in that market?

Most likely. Not only Cinépolis but Cinemex as well holds a lot of screens. Overall is Top 3 market but individual locations lag behind in national rankings. Closest is Cumbres Monterrey at No. 25

Dominion taking IMAX screens this weekend. Really weird strategy they've been doing now. I would say they will only play it during one week because of Lightyear but there are no shows listed for the astronaut on IMAX; only PLF. Wondering what studios, IMAX and Cinépolis are up to.

$24.7M according to Deadline so $29M seem locked and it'll approach $30M by Monday morning to run above Multiverse of Madness by next weekend.

From early looks, Lightyear seems weaker than Dominion on presales. Still, I'm counting on it to open similarly to Strange, Chavez & Wong.

Again super Sat and Sun for Dominion, $30.4M total, very close to 600M lc and into the Top 30 all time lc. It should pass the two prequels by next Monday if it doesn't lose too many shows to Lightyear.

Where do you see Dominion ending up at?
