Mojoguy
I'm going to blame Japan for not contributing that last $55m to push this movie over 1 billion. We were so close!

We were so close! Not sure why you are mentioning, but you literally need to reach Miyazaki Film "How Do You Live?" to reach that number. zlazer
Oscar push Re-Release and imax re-release to hit that 1 billion dollar club

Even if they do a two week run worldwide in IMAX, I still can't see it adding more than 10 million or so. It's a giant movie, not an indie drama no one saw. Those movies usually get exposure with awards season and people might go check them out. With Oppenheimer, pretty much anyone that wanted to see it did so. A re-release will get repeat viewers in as well as a small handful of curious people if the release happens after Oppie gets like 12 Oscar nods, but it's not going to do big numbers.
