It should end up staying flat with last weekend despite only adding 123 new theaters. This feels like the first platform release to perform like a pre-COVID release in a while, it's annoying that it's getting the PVOD release next week already. That should hurt it too much while it's still $20 at least, so hopefully it holds well enough through the holidays to get above $20M, maybe even stays in theaters through Oscar season to get to $30M?

The picture in the tweet pretty much shows the Disney corporate cynicism over the movie. A random goat sidekick for no reason except merchandising.

Every movie needs it's Olaf for toy sales. Even Strange World had this weird thing they felt would be the next Baymax

Because its 56 M opening isn't your typical 3 days opening as in its most lucrative markets (except for the UK) it opened on a wednesday (France, Mexico, Brazil) or on a thursday (Italy, Germany, Australia).

These very same markets are responding very well to Napoleon and having a steeper than epected drop for Hunger Games, and will also have Wish in the upcoming weeks, and that one is not going to flop as hard in Europe as it did in USA.  It might exceed 130 M WW if it does well in Japan, otherwise it will drop pretty fast.  It is not going to go over 3x multiplier of its true 3 days opening weekend (which is at about 45M WW).

I don't see the bad drops you're talking about? It's sitting comfortably under 50% in Italy, Germany and France. It will definitely do more than 130M OS.

"Cute Sidekick Who Exists Just to Sell Toys" is an actual tale as old as time for Disney lol.

Can't believe we lose two "supposed-locked" 100m movie in November coming from same studio. Luckily Trolls 3 is there to help the situation, I thought that movie will have a hard time going to 100m for releasing this close to WIsh. Now I know why they never take Disney seriously.
