3rd in Mobilization and 2nd in Revenue in Franchise

Edit: Theatre Count is 498 not 500

Yep! Holding was good despite 2022 Conan Opening. No work since 2019 has gross ¥500M in 2nd WK. Even there OP hardly reached ¥500M (excluding NWH)

This week, 2022 Shin-chan will open on 378 TCs nationwide

What final score for FB3 in Japan do you think?

>Detective Conan: The Bride of Halloween delivered the biggest opening weekend of 2022, easily, dominating the box-office by selling 966,367 admissions over the weekend frame across 498 screens, and 1,321,944 admissions over the three-day weekend. The 25th entry in franchise achieved the third biggest opening in the series in revenue / fifth biggest in admissions, as well as the third biggest opening weekend in April. The immediate goal will be ¥9 billion ($70 million+), but with little competition this upcoming Golden Week, there's a pretty good shot at it outgrossing Detective Conan: The Fist of Blue Sapphire's ¥9.37 billion to become the highest grossing film in the series. No guarantee, and perhaps slightly unlikely (Sapphire received a premium format expansion later in its run, whereas Halloween is already playing on all of them), but it's certainly doable.

The continued strength of this franchise is truly astounding. It went from pretty regular earnings around ¥3/4 billion for about a decade before suddenly becoming a blockbuster franchise in 2016 (¥5 billion+), and then almost immediately began to approach the uber-blockbuster milestone (¥10 billion) just two years later.

>Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore held well, and its second weekend is the biggest for a Hollywood film since 2019. Doubling up over its opening weekend, it should go into Golden Week in two weeks pretty strong. It'd be a bit surprising if it doesn't reach the ¥5 billion ($40 million) milestone, and may go a bit higher to like ¥5.5 billion ($45 million) or so. Japan was the second film's biggest overseas market, and it'll be once again for the third film as it should become Hollywood's first blockbuster in 2.5 years.

>Sing 2 is holding on well enough to lock-up a total above ¥3 billion (~$25 million) now. Again, this is a pretty steep drop from the original (40%), but Japan has comfortably become its second best overseas market (behind the UK) despite that. So, disappointing compared to its predecessor, but compared to everywhere else (and given how Hollywood and younger-skewing films in general have struggled recently), definitely a respectable hit.

>Doraemon: Nobita's Little Star Wars 2021 isn't going to earn much more than ¥2.5 billion, putting it behind the 2020 release and both 2021 releases. I think there's just been too many examples (four now) of this franchise beginning to drop-off, likely because it skews so young in a rapidly aging and declining population, to find an excuse for the lower numbers now. Maybe it can get back to ¥3-4 billion next year or the year after, but I think the franchise peak is well behind it at this point.

>The Last 10 Years has already earned way more than expected, and if Warner Bros. keeps it just wide enough throughout Golden Week, its chances of reaching ¥3 billion (~$25 million) are still very much alive.

>Jujutsu Kaisen 0 managed to hold onto the 10th position for a second week, achieving an outstanding 17-consecutive weeks in the Top 10! It's only ¥39 million away from becoming the 15th highest-grossing film of all-time, which it should do shortly into Golden Week (probably at the very start, April 29th or that same weekend). Its admissions are up to 9,600,956.

Jujutsu Kaisen stayed in the top 10 longer than The Batman despite being out 3 months earlier, really impressive

Anyway, with this incredible success of the Detective Conan films I've decided to watch some of them and I see that many agree that "The Panthom of Baker Street" is the best one, but what are the others recommended?
