If there is any chance that the number will break 83000, it must be today.

Today is TOHO movie day and both men and women can buy discount ticket.

Judging from today's presale, it's really strong. But it is still difficult to break 83000...in my opinion,

If the number can break 75000, I wil be satisfied.

Let's wait for this afternoon's figures to predict if this can happen.

02 (02) Doraemon: Nobita's Great Demon - Peko and the Exploration Party (Toho) Week 4
03 (--) Heisei Rider vs. Showa Rider: Kamen Rider Taisen feat. Super Sentai (Toei) DEBUT
04 (--) The Snow White Murder Case (Shochiku) DEBUT
05 (--) Team Batista: Final Kerberos's Portrait (Toho) DEBUT
06 (04) Pretty Cure All Stars: New Stage 3 (Toei) Week 3
07 (03) The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (Fox) Week 2
08 (05) God's Medical Records 2 (Toho) Week 2
09 (06) Silver Spoon (Toho) Week 4
10 (09) Saving Mr Banks. (Disney) Week 2

>Frozen... I know it's not uncommon for films to sometimes increase the last weekend of March (Spring Break), Doraemon does it most years, but to do so after already seeing a second weekend increase (of 13%) after an already huge opening weekend is extraordinarily impressive.

The film rose 1% over last weekend, taking in ¥881,212,200 ($8.6 million) with 691,321 admissions over its third weekend.  It's starting to pull significantly of every Disney/Pixar release (it's already the highest-grossing WDA release), even Finding Nemo and Toy Story 3, and as far as animated films go, it only trails Miyazaki's Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle and Ponyo after 3 weeks.

Its three week total is an incredible ¥5,278,137,250 ($51.6 million) with 4,320,519 admissions.

Spring Break is still going on, so it's probably going to see another set of weekdays over ¥1 billion ($10 million+), but from there it really should start to slow down.  But it'll be around ¥7 billion ($70 million) after four weeks in release anyway, so it'll have to almost collapse to miss ¥10 billion ($100 million), and will probably become the highest-grossing imported animated film of all-time (needs to beat Finding Nemo's ¥11 billion)... Crazy.

>The latest Kamen Rider film (a crossover featuring different eras from the franchise), opened with ¥263,158,580 ($2.6 million) and 222,265 admissions on 292 screens.  This is 14.9% better than the opening of December's release, and 4.5% better than last August's film.  The franchise has kinda begun to see smaller debuts over the past couple years, so this is a very nice improvement still showing this incredibly long running franchise (this is the 49th theatrical release) has a lot of steam left.  This release should be able to gross ¥1.2/1.3 billion ($12/13 million).

>The Snow White Murder Case sees a nice debut for dis. Shochiku, bringing in ¥163,612,000 ($1.6 million) with 124,755 admissions on 305 screens.  It should be able to crawl past the ¥1 billion ($10 million) milestone.

>Team Batista: Kerberos's Final Portrait opens softer than estimates, earning ¥155,367,900 ($1.5 million) with 123,007 admissions on 282 screens.  Decent opening, though it could have been a bit better.  It'll also be able to reach the ¥1 billion ($10 million) mark.

Frozen will have little trouble entering the Top 10 and will end up challenging Finding Nemo and Toy Story 3 at its current pace.  It also has a small chance at The Wind Rises and breaking up Miyazaki's Top 5 if it doesn't fall too hard post-Spring Break, but ¥12 billion+ will be quite difficult.

I won't be questioning Disney's selection of release dates for Japan for a very long time to come.

These daily numbers are ridiculous.  It's like reliving Frozen's Christmas week run over and over again.

I love this one!

That's great! Very close to Sunday number. I think it won't break 83000 (last Wednesday was just crazy), but tomorrow is a discount day too so it's gonna be spread out between these 2 days.

Although I'm a cat person, I love Akita Inu dog! My 2nd favorite dog, after Shiba Inu, another Japanese dog.

In my country Shibas are very rare and almost nothing known, while Akitas have enjoyed the popularity of 'Hachiko' movie, but unfortunately are very expensive.

Gotta love these numbers whatever the reason is for them. Another 108% increase from last Tuesday that was already up 56% from its first Tuesday, just...wow.

Out of curiosity, how much of a discount were tickets today?
