That's good, the goal will be the million admissions in the first week for BW. It is difficult but not impossible. As a reminder, the last film to have achieved 1M admissions in the first week is SW9 in December 2019.

Wow really ? I hadn't seen that, it's really huge. I knew there was a big expectation for this movie, but not at this point. With such pre-sale figures, we can expect some really huge figures in less than 2 weeks. Perhaps the first French film to reach 2 million admissions in the first week since January 2019 and the first film to exceed 5 million admissions post-covid ?

Black Widow's figures in Paris for Friday are a little lower than expected (even lower than Thursday), it is probably due to the wonderful weather yesterday in the capital. Based on the Paris figures I think BW is around 420k admissions in 3 days. If BW follows the Marvel movie trend, its first weekend will be around 700k-750k admissions ($6,4M-$6,9M).

Acceptable because Thursday was way stronger than expected. I was ready for 55% drop on THU and then 15-20% increase on FRI.

Not an incredible Saturday for BW according to the Paris figures but an ok and sufficient figure to reach 750k admissions in the first weekend.

Oh it seems fantastic. +49% is great for an MCU film I guess. FFH was only +35%.

The increase was big because Friday was a little lower than expected. Usually Saturday is stronger than OD for MCU movies (except maybe for SM: FFM and 2-3 others), but not this time Saturday is a bit lower. In the end, it's not a big deal, it's still a good Saturday and the weather forecast was very good that day, which may explain things.

I expected a little more in view of the revenues announced by Disney in France, but it's good it does not matter 700k admissions crossed in the first weekend and BW already achieves the best start of 2021 ahead of Conjuring 3 (665k admissions) and the 2nd best postcovid start behind Tenet in August 2020 (809k admissions). In the end it should reach something around 1.5M-2M admissions like Ant man 2 which had started a little higher and which had finished at 1.85M admissions

Finally, I have to share some very bad news. President Macron announced in a speech this evening that to go to the cinema and other public places it will now be necessary to have a vaccination passport, that is to say that it will be necessary to be fully vaccinated to go to the cinema. In France, only 35% of the population is fully vaccinated which means that there will be a lot less admissions and income to the cinema in France, but when I say a lot less, I'm not kidding, it will be awful and there will be considerable drops in attendance. BW and others films will have shitty legs and the big French movie Kaamelott which was due out on July 21 and which could easily have achieved 2 million admissions in OW and 5 million admissions in the end may not even make 1/3 of that. I am very disappointed and saddened by these new measures.

These measures are there to prevent a complete shutdown of theaters down the road, it's a good thing on the long run.

Besides, as the number of vaccinated will grow fast, the number of potential viewers will increase too.
