Rsyu
Interstellar admissions was down by 30.3% from last weekend landing to a total of 6,853,170 admissions and $50.5 million gross. Week 3 was down by 31.6% from week 2 but up 6.3% from opening week. As previously mentioned, it is Nolan's biggest box office hit in South Korea in both admissions and gross, and still has a way to go. Also of note, besides Frozen, among the top performing foreign releases in Korea this year are Interstellar, TF4, EoT (2nd~4th) followed by DotPotA 2 places below, proof that the sci-fi genre is a big pull here. Interstellar still owns the majority of presales and is likely to win week 4. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part one finished the week with a 4 day opening of 477,251 admissions and $3.3 million gross (including previews). This is a slight increase over Catching Fire in both admissions and gross (1.3% and 3.7%) as well as The Hunger Games (50.2% and 56.3%). Naver ratings are slightly down from CF (8.08/10 compared to CF's 8.34/10) but is still higher than THG's score of 7.20/10. Mockingjay part one is lagging behind in presales to Fury now and slipped to third behind it on Sunday. This should continue to be the status quo for the upcoming week until "big match" releases, by which point it should slip to fourth. Fury had a pretty solid week all things considered. It lagged behind in presales to Mockingjay but had stronger walk-up business and, from the looks of it, a more positive audience reaction. Sunday's admissions beating MJ1 is proof of that. It should consolidate 2nd place for the upcoming week, at least until wednesday when Big match Opens. Upcoming week: Interstellar should win the week again. How much it falls will depend a lot on how local release Big match fares. Apparently Big match had some advanced screenings and some positive audience reaction but then again, so did cart, and it didn't help the box office there. Dumb and Dumber to also releases on the 27th. Traditionally hollywood comedy films rarely generate any decent business in Korea (different humor codes I guess) but Jim Carrey is well known and loved so it could be an unlikely hit. Likely top 5: 01. Interstellar 02. Big match 03. Fury 04. Mockingjay part one 05. Rsyu
Wow, nice for Fury. And Interstellar is a beast. 60M should be locked. Any chance for 70M? Well $70 million would be approaching frozen territory. Good news for Interstellar is that it's currently tracking ahead. If admissions for week 4 holds at around 1.4-1.5 million then I think that there's a good chance it will happen.

Rsyu
Do you feel $60m is pretty much locked to happen? That's hard to believe. after 6.8 million admissions Interstellar is at $50 million cume. An additional $10 million would require an 1.36 million admissions. At it's current pace I don't see interstellar missing that amount. Edited November 23, 2014 by Rsyu
Rsyu
Hollywood films dominated the box office the past weekend with Interstellar, Fury, and Mockingjay taking 87.3% of the total earnings. Overall it has been a massive year for Hollywood films and foreign releases in general. Currently, total attendance for foreign films stands at 96 million and 100 million should fall quite easily before the year is out. The previous record year for Foreign releases was 2013 with 86 million admissions.

Wouldn't be surprised if it surpasses Roaring Currents. I'm only half joking tbh. Rsyu
s that good for interstellar, mockingjay and fury? Pretty much expected number for interstellar. If the same % of drops hold throughout the week, week 4 could come in at 1.3-1.4 million admissions. Fury held very well. Early signs suggest it could pull a gone girl type of run (currently at 1,725,218 adm). Fairly bad number for MJ1. It's down 21.4% from CF's first monday numbers.

Rsyu
Can MJ1 rebound over the weekend? And when do you think IS will have it's big drop? Sorry for the many questions No need to be sorry As for Mockingjay, having been overtaken by Fury, I don't think there's anything to suggest that it will move back over it. In all likelihood it will place fourth in the upcoming weekend. Interstellar dailies will fall below 100K for the first time next monday I think. Big match and DD2 opening on Wednesday should bring it down to 110-130K. Exodus opening on 12/3 will cause it to drop again and I don't think it will do much business beyond that weekend.
