As a result, the total box office for the calendar year is roughly on par with last year in terms of attendance but lagging 3.5 million or so behind 2013. In gross though 2015 managed to outweigh both 2014 and 2013. The biggest success story of the month was obviously The Avengers: Age of Ultron. After a record breaking opening followed by several low points which included mini meltdowns and hysteria from those on these boards, it looks to have somewhat stabilized and progressing as most people expected it to. Currently, 10 million admissions looks likely to happen which would make it the most successful Marvel product in South Korea. Fast and Furious 7 also did extremely well to shake off the series' weak box office streak in Korea. It is the most successful hit of the franchise increasing some 77.3% over FF6, which was the most successful film in the franchise prior to the release of FF7. Among Korean films, twenty was the most successful despite it being a March release. It's only the second Korean film to amass more than 3 million admissions in the current calendar year. A special mention to Kingsman: The secret service, which managed to nab 5th place in the April Box office despite it being and early February release. Matthew Vaughn mentioned in an interview that if he made a sequel/prequel to Kingsman, he'd want to film part of it in Korea. If Colin Firth reprises his lead role we could be looking at the first R-rated movie to break 10 million admissions (only half-joking )Most Attended films (April 2015) 01. 4,664,218 The Avengers: Age of Ultron* 02. 3,179,586 Fast and Furious 7 03. 1,687,605 Twenty 04. 1,048,056 Salut D'Amour 05. 372,125 Kingsman: The Secret Service 06. 283,955 Whiplash 07. 185,547 Coin Locker Girl 08. 137,747 Revivre 09. 113,691 Cinderella 10. 107,265 The Gunman Biggest April Releases (2004~) 01. 9,001,309 Iron Man 3 (2013) 02. 7,074,867 The Avengers (2012)03. 4,664,218 The Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)* 04. 4,498,335 Iron Man 2 (2010) 05. 4,316,003 Iron Man (2008) 06. 4,168,350 The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) 07. 4,088,799 My Girlfriend is an Agent (2009) 08. 3,849,454 The Fatal Encounter (2014) 09. 3,179,983 Fast and Furious 7 (2015) 10. 2,841,788 The Target (2014) *=still in theatres Biggest April OW (3 day: 2004~) 01. 2,819,054 The Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) 02. 2,202,055 Iron Man 3 (2013) 03. 1,403,238 Iron Man 2 (2010) 04. 1,345,270 The Avengers (2012) 05. 1,296,544 The Amazing Spider-Man 2 06. 929,931 Clash of Titans (2010) 07. 922,043 Iron Man (2008) 08. 908,493 Fast and Furious 7 (2015) 09. 779,748 Thirst (2009) 10. 675,449 Battleship (2012)
