So roughly calculating...

CGV had 1858 screens showing JW2 out of a total 5237 for opening day, this correlates to 35% of all screens. Similarly it had 42% of all theatres showing JW2 and 40% of all showings.

Extrapolating upwards gives JW2 a range of 250k to 300k for its second day, a drop of 75 to 79%, which seems in line with the inflation of Memorial day that The Mummy had. I'd say that's a fantastic result if it's true.

I think it's closer to half of the admissions though I'm not too sure. I've only started following it since yesterday.

>SK's love of Tom Cruise

I know many people have commented before that they found it surreal/hilarious how The Mummy of all films used to hold the OD record in the country. While there can be no doubt that Memorial Day holiday was the key factor behind that number, another element that cannot be discounted is just how popular Tom Cruise is in South Korea. And it's not just because he is the main star in a number of popular films. Before he made his name in the MI films and before South Korea rose to become a significant box office player, he visited SK way back in 1994 to promote the film Interview with a Vampire. Since then he has visited South Korea a total of 8 times, the most among any A-list Hollywood actor/actress and fans have dubbed him "Kind Mr. Tom" because of his amazingly patient and dedicated fan service. Rogue Nation in 2015 was squeezed between 2 10M+ admission films and yet it did remarkably well despite decreasing from Ghost Protocol. It looks like Fallout might face a similar challenge this year.

But didn't The Mummy have bad WOM in SK? Does it not show on the day after Memorial Day?

I think 200K+ normal day is pretty decent for Fallen Kingdom. Review posts are popping up right now and it's not exactly glowing, certainly not to the point Infinity War was. The heavy drop only looks bad because of how huge the OD was.

That number 112,954 was the final CGV admissions update so yeah, almost exactly half the total dailies.

Where Can we see CGV numbers?

PS for tomorrow is up around 32.8%. The Mummy also increased around 32.5% from Thursday to Friday. However The Mummy was released on Tuesday and was already 3 days into its run vs 2 days for JW2 so a like for like comparision may not work.

IW which was released on Wednesday like JW2 increased around 24.2% on Friday

I use the CGV app on my phone. So far I've been unable to locate it on the computer website.

SK never fails to surprise. I’m glad they love the MI series. P

Even post-Memorial holiday, that’s quite a harsh drop. $25M opening 5-day is what I see now.

Total gross will be 50M+, an increase over JW, so that’s good.
