MagnetMan
TASM brought this to my attention. When "Notting Hill" was making the rounds, Rhys Ifans watched his star rise a little. During that time, I learned his name was pronounced "Reese If-Fonz". Now, while portraying the Lizard, I hear "Rize Eye-fans." And, since most of the time we only see these names in print or in credits, I'm still not sure which is right. What are some other famous names with pronunciation discrepancies? Some obvious examples:Kim Basinger (Bay-singer or Bass-injer)Cillian Murphy (Silly-an or Killian)Ralph Fiennes (Ray-f)

Moviedweeb
Michelle Pfeiffer ..nuff said.I don't think people really mispronounce Michelle Pfieffer (unless they have literally not heard of her). Similar to Arnold Schwarzenneger. MagnetMan is referring to names such as Martin Scorsese, Marion Cotillard, Steve Carrell (less so now), Zack Glafianakis, Shia Labeouf etc.. MagnetMan
Galifinakis was a good one. Especially when he was on the rise. ("You know... the weird one on 'The Hangover.'')

fishstick
Keira Knightley is awfully misspelled. Instead of Keira most people spell Kiera.Catherine Zeta Jones - most people pronounce Zeta as Zeeta but it`s actually Zayta.Saoirse Ronan - pronounces Sur-sha in her case (otherwise common Irish pronounciation is seer-sha but she clarified that hers is sur-sha)Miranda Shitto is sometimes misspelled and mispronounced as Otto. The heck?

AniNate
Noomi Rapace is another one. Not sure if it's Ra-pace or Ra-pass or which syllable to put the stress on.
Incarnadine
Amanda SeyfriedCorrect pronunciation is "sigh-frid" , but I've heard it as "see-freed", "say-freed", "see-fride", etc.As mentioned, Saoirse Ronan is probably the toughest one, looking at the way it's spelled I would never have guessed the right pronunciation. Not sure if it's Ra-pace or Ra-pass or which syllable to put the stress on.Her first name is also mispronounced as Noo-mie while correct pronounciation of Noo should rhyme with "low".
