Kalel009Shel
It is, this isn't making more than IM3. Keep dreaming Tower.. We will see. Alot of you also said it wasnt getting past 350-400M WW LOL . How about double that!!
Kalel009Shel
That's not interesting, it's an extremely flawed comparison. You just gave TASM a 3.5 day headstart on MOS with that comparison since TASM has previews on Monday and a full release on Tuesday. Amen Red... And I feel Supes will hit 301-305MDomestic and 500M OS.. So Its a wrap for the Spidey Reboot. lol
Kalel009Shel
Agreed. It didn't need to be IM3, TDK, or TDKR. It just needed to be the equivalent of IM1 or TASM. That it is. Thats all that can be asked of this movie and in that expectation it has succeeded and will get to $700+. When MoS2 comes around though, that's an entirely different conversation. Time warner will turn MOS2 to HP 7 level Juggernaut indeed witness. Even IM3 numbers or better should be possible.
Tower
Keep dreaming Tower.. We will see. Alot of you also said it wasnt getting past 350-400M WW LOL . How about double that!! Except Firedeep, nobody thought that, certainly not me. And nothing from the markets it was released in so far would lead me to believe that Superman could outgross IM3. zackzack
MoS did less than NYSM & MU in Russia.... Previous week Edited June 26, 2013 by zackzack
messipotamia
MoS did less than NYSM & MU in Russia.... Previous week To be honest SR did 1.7mill total, so this opening is not bad at all considering that superman (understandably as an american icon) isn't that popular in Russia, and to be honest, superhero films aren't as big in Russia as they are else where. DeeCee
Sessions just started in Australia. Forgot to check so I'm not sure how sold out the 6:30 screenings were. 9:30 screenings have not sold out.
messipotamia
MoS should clean up well in Australia. Like it did in another English-speaking country, the UK. It is not unrealistic to expect it to do $40M down under. I'm with Tower here, the most we can hope for is 20 million, which is double what SR did. I suspect about 15 mill final gross and that's not bad at all in my book. Kal I was one of the people who predicted a max of 520 mill WW for MOS and I am very happy that the film is on course to do more than that (maybe 600 mill), but as much as people like BKB and Firedeep underestimated this film you're doing the exact opposite and going way overboard with your predictions; honestly anything over 600 mill is a big victory for a reboot following a stagnant franchise. Fullbuster
IMO it won't pass TASM given the recent numbers. And TASM will beat it handily in Japan and Russia, not easy to offset this.

Oh yeah ASM did great OS numbers (490 mill) which is not surprising even given the fact that its a reboot because spiderman is a very popular franchise overseas and ASM was reaping the good will of the 3 previous films (even if SM3 was a critical dud). Honestly I would be happy with 300 mill or over, which is very good for a reboot and hopefully if the sequel corrects the shortcomings of MOS, superman can start breaking records.
