A Marvel Fanboy
600m OS possible? why are you even surprised ... 600M OS was always the target.
A Marvel Fanboy
2012 saw 5 600M+ OS films. Hopefully FF6 can somehow get into the top 5 OS of 2013. FF5 ranked #7 OS in 2011.
A Marvel Fanboy
IM3 > Hobbit 2 > Smurfs 2 > CF / DM2 / MU / Thor 2 > MoS The chance for top 5 OS is slim but not completely dead yet, hopefully.

I thought you said MU would flop because it's a college film.
A Marvel Fanboy
I thought you said MU would flop because it's a college film. I did. But I wouldn't completely rule 500M+ for it yet.
bballman24
I would've taken anything after STiD disappointed but this is an amazing number for a "2D" franchise that was dead a few years ago. This and Skyfall = WOW!!! I guess you can't please everybody though lol

Robertron
So did we ever get an international report?Or no because of the 4-day?
Olive
So did we ever get an international report?Or no because of the 4-day? The world belongs to Fast & Furious 6 as the action thriller grossed an estimated $158m from 8,644 venues in 59 territories to deliver Universal’s biggest international launch weekend. Fast Five was the previous holder for Universal on $125m but it was no match for the sixth entry as all-time opening records tumbled in the UAE, Argentina and the Middle East and Universal set new benchmarks in 40 territories. The lead market was Russia on $18.1m, followed by Germany on $12.9m, Mexico on $12.7m, France on $10.1m, Italy on $9m and Taiwan on $7m. All results are the biggest debut weekends in the franchise to date. The film added $6.2m in the UK following last weekend’s record launch to stand at $25.3m. http://www.screendaily.com/box-office/fast-6-rules-intl-on-158m/5056785.article

Olive
Wasn't this its 2nd OS wknd? Technically yes, 1st weekend only opened in UK.
Neo
Technically yes, 1st weekend only opened in UK. Why, why, why. Could have had a top 15 WW OW now will be at around 67.
Olive
Why, why, why. Could have had a top 15 WW OW now will be at around 67. Perhaps studios didn't want to release FF6 and H3 in the same week there.

Neo
Perhaps studios didn't want to release FF6 and H3 in the same week there. Could have been June 31, but before DOM OW, messes up WW OW. Don't think H3 would have posed a problem for F6 in the U.K.

druv10
FAST & FURIOUS 6: $197M Overseas Total / $317M Global Total. #Fast6 Great start, 600M+ is definitely possible with weak competition and summer weekdays.
Sam
So did weekend actuals come out better than yesterday estimates, or that 197M OS includes Monday?
