ClaudeManhattan
Glad to see Jupiter Ascending is doing well in China. Unlike the West, I guess the Chinese and the Eastern Europeans appreciate original space operas.

Olive
I feel like the BH6 increase is too good to be true. #buzzkill Actuals turn out to be higher than estimates, BH6 made 47.7M yuan, biggest daily for the movie.

pepsa
Saturday was so high that even a small decrease in Sunday is great. $18M weekend. Wow. Decrease? Yesterday was 45M before actuals, and the actuals made it 48 so maybe the actuals will be 50M today. Just sayin it could be, because the last days it always goes up. Olive
Why? Violence? Should be. Cloud Atlas was also 37 min shorter in China.

Bob Violence
Should be. Cloud Atlas was also 37 min shorter in China. Very few of those 37 minutes were censorship cuts, though. The local distributor just cut out everything that wasn't absolutely essential to the plot. Maybe the Film Bureau really did censor nearly 40 minutes of Kingsman, but I think that might qualify it as the most heavily censored film ever released to Chinese theaters. Even all the cuts to Django Unchained amounted to a minute or two. Cloud Atlas isn't the only time an import has been heavily recut by the Chinese distributor—in another example, The Grey was missing about 20 minutes of footage when it came out in China, most of which would've posed no problems at the Film Bureau—so maybe the 39 minutes in Kingsman are combination of censorship edits (which the film would certainly need) and "improvements" by the distributor. druv10
With BH6 breaking out (it had potential with robots and SH), I can only imagine what crazy high gross TA2 is going to do in May.
A Marvel Fanboy
Highly anticipated cop thriller Helios just dated Apr 30, battling for May holiday. Nice ! It's interesting to see which one will be the highest grossing cop thriller of this year, Helios or Ringo Lam's Hustle ? Johnnie To's Three On The Road, which will come out next year, already began shooting. Louis Koo + Vicki Zhao + Wallace Chung = first $100m+ cop thriller ! It's like Drug War 2, so excited for it.
