Unlucky, their wish will not come true. If China want to move on from Covid, China have to import foreign vaccines. Their vaccine policy has been softer than other countries and because of zero covid people felt somewhat "safe" and a lot didnt keep up with the vaccination effort . They should have just gone all in with the vax push with their own vaccines in the last few months but only did mediocre in that regard so the population rn is more vulnerable than it should have been. But i heard they are starting to circulate a inhale-able vaccine that shows good promise so that might help as well China's vaccine is not only "slightly worse". At least according to this Singapore study https://sg.news.yahoo.com/sinovac-sinopharm-less-effective-pfizer-covid-singapore-study-150929550.html Those who are vaccinated with two China-made COVID-19 vaccines are more likely to be infected with the virus, compared with those who are inoculated with the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. These were among the findings published on Tuesday (12 April) in a study by a group of Singapore infectious disease experts including National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) executive director Leo Yee Sin, Ministry of Health (MOH) Communicable Diseases Division director Vernon Lee and NCID Infectious Disease Research and Training Office director David Lye. .......... Sinovac and Sinopharm recipients are 2.37 and 1.62 times more likely to be infected, respectively, compared with those who receive Pfizer shots. In addition, Sinovac and Sinopharm recipients are around five times and 1.58 times more likely to develop severe disease, respectively, compared with Pfizer recipients. GipJo
Beijing seems to be recovering. It is the biggest box office city today, instead of Shanghai in the past three days. Shenzhen is dropping. Chengdu and Hangzhou are stable. Guangzhou is still in the deep end.
GipJo
Small cities are still refuse to go to theaters. And it would only get worse when people return from big cities and go to their home in small cities during spring festival. The only money it can pull is the box office from premium screens of big cities.
