Expectations on Go away Mr. Tumour (8.13) keep increasing. At this point, Most agree it will be the next big hit, maybe 500m+ grossing or even (much) higher. If so, Bai Baihe will at least win five weeks, maybe six weeks (MH 4, GAMT 2) if GAMT overshadows Bride Wars on its second week, and literally own this summer. She is already the highest paid actress in China.

 

 

MH is still on track for 2B, despite four major releases next week including:

firedeep, what do you think about Russian Snow Queen movie (August, 3).

Is there any chance it will make at least Shaun the Sheep numbers?

And why the hell to release animated movie for children on Monday? It looks like the worst date ever.

With 4 new openers,will TMK have a big drop next weekend?

If MH, JBM & TMK can hold well, Plus 4 new openers

can it be an interested week again?

Not sure if The Crossing 2 (Taiping sinking) is the biggest hit among those 4 new.

Hmm...Part I was disappointed.

TC2 will be lucky to top the first part.

 

Wild City should be the biggest of the four. Still hard to tell how holdovers will drop coming Thu and Fri.

Oh wow - if KFP3 does these numbers (say 400 million in China), maybe it can beat Frozen WW! and become highest all time in animation!

It could be doable. And with a January release slot, and very "weak" and "meh" competition in February...$1B WW is an easy target.

I could see either KFP3 or Finding Dory outgrossing Frozen WW, with the help from China.
