<p> </p><div>100M now has become the standard gross for hollywood mega-flicks. </div><div> </div><div>With MI4 crossing 100M, there is no reason blockbusters like Battleship, TASM, TDKR, Skyfall, The Hobbit missing that mark. Even IA4, MIB3, TA, TE2 all should do at least 80M. Others like WOTT,  GIJ2, RE5, Promethues should have no problem hitting 60M+.</div><div> </div><div>2012 is a big year, especially for hollywood releases, in China box office. 2013 should again show steady increasing. Then comes 2014, TASM2 and TF4 will do HUGE.</div><div> </div><div>2012 will see at least 5 100M+ movies while 2014 will get more than 10!</div>

$100m opening week for Avatar 2 is basically locked. TF3 almost did two thirds of that in 2011. Avatar 2 will have a solid shot at 150m if it opens on Monday. But of cause, I wont go as far as saying it will do $1 billion.

Is 100m OD even practically possible?

Not now, but definitely possible in Jan 2016 or Jan 2017.TF3 did over 100M yuan OD in 2011, with 5 times more screens than TF3 had, 500M+ yuan should be within reach for Avatar 2 in theory. If the exchange rate falls just slightly higher than 5 to 1, then 100M $ there you go. ;)

Right now the chinese market just looks so impressive because ticket prices are so high; and the market can only expand if the middle continues to grow. How big is it today? 300 million people? And maybe 10'000 modern screens? Europe has maybe 30'000 screens for the same population, so the potential in the following years for China seems to be something like 300%, but hardly 1000% IMO.

Don't worry, China is still a poor country now, we would have to develop economy in next 20-30 years.

JC will have more than 40,000 shows in OW.If average attendance per show could reach about 50, it could gross about 12m in OW.But we should observe the average attendance rate.

That would be a pretty god number if you´re right
