vc2002
Combined with the original take, Titanic will sail pass TF3 this week, and the chance of taking the crown back from Avatar looks solid.
A Marvel Fanboy
Firedeep, Tuesday 12:00AM update: Weekly Box Office (4.16 ~ 4.22): Titanic 3D Sunk Battleship with Big 42M Weekly 1. Titanic 3D 270M yuan (42M $) -43% 2. Battleship 122M yuan (19.3M $) new 3. Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance 24.4M yuan (3.87M $) new 4. R.T.T 4.7M yuan (0.74M $) -56% 5. New York Assassination 3.8M yuan (0.6M $) -52% 6. Love in The Buff 春娇与志明 1.96M yuan (0.31M $) -82% 7. Love On That Day 爱在那一天 1.6M yuan (0.25M $) -68% 8. Huang Dao Qing Wei Liao荒岛情未了 1.2M yuan (0.19M $) -40% 9. Blood Stained Shoes 绣花鞋 1.19M yuan (1.1M $) -84% 10. Wrath of the Titans 1.14M yuan (0.18M $) -88% Cume Titanic 3D 738M yuan (117M $) Battleship 122M yuan (19.3M $) Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance 24.4M yuan (3.87M $) Love in The Buff 春娇与志明 71.66M yuan (11.36M $) R.T.T 15.3M yuan (2.43M $) Wrath of the Titans 165M yuan (26.2M $) New York Assassination 11.6M yuan (1.84M $) Blood Stained Shoes 绣花鞋 44.39M yuan (7.03M $) The Unfortunate Car 车在囧途 27.5M yuan (4.3M $) Love On That Day 爱在那一天 4.75M yuan (0.75M $) John Carter 262.53M yuan (41.6M $) Huang Dao Qing Wei Liao荒岛情未了 2M yuan (0.31M $) James Cameron's Titanic 3D scored 270M yuan ($ 42M) during its second week, with a healthy 43% drop. It is the 2nd biggest second week, right after TF3's 363M yuan set in last July. After only 2 weeks, the blockbuster's re-release stands at 738M yuan ($ 117M), claiming the highest gross of this year so far, replacing MI4's $ 107M. Now the question is, can it win the year 2012 ?Combined with its original release, the James Cameron film has grossed 1098M yuan in China through last Sunday, becoming the third movie in history to cross the impressive 1B yuan mark. Universal's Battleship debuted 122m yuan (19.3M $) in its 5-days first week run, setting a new studio opening record for them in China. Though fell short of many box office observers' $ 30M expectation, that number is overall decent considering how strong Titanic still is in the market. Nicolas Cage's Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance 3D opened to 24.4M yuan through its 3 days weekend, a standard Cage opening in China. Cage's Drive Angry 3D opened to about 25M yuan in last September and finished with 68M yuan. Now the Nicolas Cage second 3D release should target to $ 10M. Once again down hefty 88% , Wrath of the Titans took the place of NO. 10 on the box office chart with a cume of 26.2M $ after 4 weekends in theatres. It will competely drop out of the top 10 this week. One thing to note, WOTT now officially become the first sequel that not outgrossing its previous in China, which is unbelievably rare to see in a quickly expanding market. Thanks to the strong hold of Titanic 3D and decent opening of Battleship, the Top 10's combined 440M yuan gross was upnearly 200% from the same week last year, though down 17% from last week this year. The total revenue of April now stands at 1.25B, already up 87% from last April. Edited April 24, 2012 by firedeep
NYer4Life
Nope, those numbers include the weekend.I just noticed that some of the foreign markets (including China) says as of 04/22...But China's number is going to go up and there are still a lot of markets on the list that haven't been updated since 04/15.I think $350 million is still possible! Elessar
Even though not all individual markets are always updated, the foreign total includes all markets. $350m OS is too much, i believe.Sheesh, TF3's 2nd week was huge! Alex Bennett
I've seen battleship yesterday and kinda disappointed at the awful story. This week titanic will undoubtedly remain on top until May5th.. btw its ticket price is insane--almost 30 dollars.

Cedarpoint1111
Wow... And I thought paying $11.50 for a regular 2D ticket was crazy. Of course, 3D Imax goes up to 18 dollars, but that's still tiny compared to 28!
Rudolf
I have seen admission numbers for China that are really astonishing: From 1998: 121m increasing to 2010: 377mNow it gets interesting: 1992: 10,000m and 1979: 29,300m. Can anyone confirm these numbers? Surely tickets then were not 30$ but a few Chiaos.

pinocchio
The 2.25 billion admissions for 2010 is cleary wrong. It was just 225 million or so.
