Do Studios spend money on marketing in China? Or local distributors?

If it is the studios, I have to imagine at some point they stop sending most of their movies with how worthless the market has become for the most part for Hollywood.

Hollywood basically have their own studio in China

 

Only Talyor Swift Eras Tour was distributed via Branch Distribution like other non-English Titles like suppose Alibaba for Heron ($109M), Road Pictures for Suzume ($118M), Slam Dunk ($96M)

 

So, yeah Hollywood Studio is directly involved in marketing of their products in China

Doubt it would have much difference if any. Better to just cut on the spending. If something does well somehow, good. If not, nothing new.

Can Deadpool get day and date. isn't that peak release date for local movies? That said Barbie did open last July while Oppenheimer took a while to release.

Well, tracker did have a expectations that the film will somehow make out in September but somehow Disney had filed for approval on Monday so who knows what's they are planning in their minds 

 

But, at first, this isn't a confirmation that the film will make it out in China so let's patiently wait for next 3 weeks before we looks for any date assumption (also let it passed the censorship)
