Well I've heard his cut was much better of SM2 (not as many plot holes and didn't have the odd and rather cheesy ending of the Superman logo )

The main reason Superman II was any good at all was due to Donner. The other Richard(Lester) brought in mostly lame parts. Although the opening scene on the Eiffel Tower was a good addition, IMO. Superman II would have been more like his Superman III, had he directed the whole thing.
