The 2013 Box Office Awards Nominations (THANKS FOR VOTING)

Recommended Posts

I like Looper in Screenplay. Still don't get the love for Barks, but it's great to see Field wasn't nominated. I haven't seen a single nomination in Supporting Actor; guess I should've switched out Ruffalo for Redmayne. YAY FOR JACKMAN. Lee and Affleck make me a happy voter. I voted for half of the BP noms, had four of the honorable mentions too. Only missing my number one film for any mention. :P

Honestly, if there was going to be a double nomination, I would've thought it be Hathaway in Supporting Actress... Although I'll admit I voted for JLaw in Hunger Games since that and ZDT have been the only female lead movies I saw from 2012.

The deadline for final ballots will be no later than Friday, February 1. We'll hold the ceremony next Saturday. It'll be elaborate and bloated and not all that funny, just like the real Oscars.

My personal ballot:

Thread: 12/24 numbers thread

Forum Moment; Avengers opening weekend

Funniest: Fishnets

Valuable: ShawnMR

Disappointing: John Carter

Impressive: The Hunger Games

Fanboy: iJack

Drama TV: Breaking Bad

Comedy TV: Parks and Recreation

Worst: The Lorax

Score: Cloud Atlas

Cinematography: Skyfall

Visuals: Life of Pi

Comedy: Moonrise Kingdom

Animated: Wreck-It Ralph

Ensemble: Lincoln

Original: Django

Adapted: Lincoln

Sup. Actress: Hathaway

Sup. Actor: Hoffman

Actress: Riva

Actor: Phoenix

Director: Lee/Bigelow (can't decide)

Picture: Master

You didn't... did you?

Sorry, I had to! After the admittedly good first twenty minutes, that movie was pretty much what an annoying, pretentious film student would put out to show how "deep" they are. In a year where almost every other film showed you can be both smart AND entertaining, I hated watching a movie like that. Same as Tree of Life last year.
