grim22
Was looking at the Worldwide Gross charts developed by laguy (Great work BTW) and noticed a small error in the charts. The rule for WW gross is: Call the gross correct within 50 mill: 10,000 points Call the gross within 50.1 mill to 75 mill 5000 ptsCall the gros within 75.1 to 100 mill 2500 pts.Miss the WW gross by more than 150 mill and you lose 10,000 points. The tables have the point loss at 100M instead of 150M. Edited August 8, 2013 by grim22

Nice catch. baumer, does this mean anyone who has the total anywhere from $100-$150M away from the final gross doesn't lose or gain any points? If this is the case, I will be sure it is corrected in next week's update.
chasmmi
So for spur of the moment 11... Anybody who abstained for either the main question or the DM2 bonus made a big mistake. Including DM2 as one of the films meant that you are guaranteed to recoup your lost 5k for getting the first part wrong. As of Sunday DM2 was on 328M after having a 10M weekend. 5% of 350M is 17.5M. Therefore if you guess 350M, then you will win that 5k back so long as DM2 makes between 4M and 39M over the next 29 days. Focusing on trying to get the question exactly right (or even close) was a big mistake, in fact people predicting 345M or less were actually including DM2 losing money over August. Now I decided to go for the slightly risky 6 instead of what I think is a guaranteed 4 at least (I would be will to bet all of my points for the chance to win and extra 50k that I get at least 4 right.) but when you deliberately predict too high instead of trying to hit the gross nail on the head, here are the ranges you get: Wolverine: 132.5M (125-138.5 is the winning range) Conjuring: 136M (129 - 142.8) The Heat: 163.5M (154.85 - 171.15) Pac Rim: 102.25M (97.14 - 107.36) Grown Ups 2: 134M (127.3 - 140.7) Despicable Me 2: 353M (335.35 - 370.65) Now if i am missing something then please tell me and I will admit to being a fool (I have proved far from successful in any other sector of this game so far. But I honestly believe that nearly every bonus predicted will score that player 5k. The ranges are so huges and the weekly totals for a fair number of the films not hight enough to cause much deviation. Anyway I will stop boring people now
baumer
Thats an awesome post. Next to LAGUYS posts that one is my fave of the game. Nice job!!
baumer
I have no idea why i only put 124 for Conjuring. I need it to not pass 130 by the end of the game now. I should have went higher. Shit!
chasmmi
Thanks for saying Baumer and yes I think conjouring will hurt you. Even with what I wrote before I still went lower than I should have with some predictions. The biggest mistake is prediction a total you actually think will happen. druv10
Baumer, SOTM 9 can be answered as DM2 has passed Shrek the third and has no chance at FN's 380M+.
