  1. Man, I consider that the best part of the entire X-Men franchise. Just go back and watch the film over. Oh, I think you meant the end credits scene. lol never mind
  2. I guess Fox figured enough people watched the end credits scene. However, had I not seen that scene, I would be as confused to hell and chalk it up to another continuity error which this film franchise has in spades, or rather had in spades prior to this film rebooting everything.
  3. I think the takeaway lesson with Godzilla is that yes, you can mislead people with advertising to get a big OW, but once WOM spreads of what you done, audiences won't be so forgiving the next week.
  4. You guys are spinning this. Last weekend, everyone was talking about how this was dropping 50% or less.
  5. Umm, what you said makes no sense. MD weekend usually makes holdovers drop less because Sunday acts as a second Sat. The fact this is dropping so big is telling.
  6. I am actually surprised by these numbers. If X-Men manages a $100M 3-Day, I will be shocked. And, Godzilla's drop is also a shock to me. Anyway, I still see X-Men dropping big time next week. This will be one of those summers if a film really stands out, it stands a chance to really break out.
  7. Well, I am glad to see WOM is more mixed for Godzilla than originally though. For a while, I was feeling like I was in a minority thinking the script and acting were weak.
  8. I did have one minor problem with the film. How in the world did Mystique manage to shoot Magneto. I mean in all the films we see that he can stop bullets, so why not this time?
  9. Well, I am not sure what to make of this film. I liked it, but I enjoyed FC more. So, I would probably rank this at as number 2, but that is hard since X2 did a terrific job of developing all the characters whereas this film was much more plot driven. I wasn't wowed by the film, but I love, love the final scene of the film. I thought it was the perfect ending for the franchise. I kind of felt had this been the last X-Men film that would have been perfect. So, anyway, the last scene is the best scene ever in any X-Men film. Now, for the rest of the movie, I enjoyed it. It had good pacing and all but like I said earlier, I wasn't wowed. Now, if I had gone in not knowing the story line or what this was about, I probably would have been very impressed, but I already knew the DoFP story line from the cartoon growing up. Now, as a kid, those were my favorite episodes, so I was glad to see it make the big screen. I give this film a B+.
  10. I think these numbers are good considering it opened at 10PM vs 8 or 7PM and also the fact that this releases over a long weekend.
  11. Honestly, I think the film will do fine this weekend. I hated this movie, but I think a lot of the GA actually likes this film. And, the X-Men films have a built-in audience.
  12. Actually, BO wise, comic book films seem to be doing better now than before. Before Spider-Man and X-Men were the only hits. FF, Daredevil, Hulk, etc. all failed. Then, in 2008 we had TDK and Iron Man both big hits. Then, in 2012 we got Avengers and TDKR and then IM3, Thor 2, Cap 2, and heck TASM2 an absolute train-wreck will make more than $200M. It is also likely DOFP and GOTG make over $200M and MoS made almost $300M last year. If any thing in 2002, Spider-Man got audiences used to comic book films, IM and TDK took things up a notch in 2008 and in 2012 the genre went up yet another notch thanks to the Avengers. So, actually comic book films are on an upward progression at the moment and not a downhill progression.
  13. So, does that mean they hated it? Sorry, I don't always get English humor.
  14. That Godzilla seems a lot more awesome than the one we got in this film.
  15. Yah, the marketing campaign really misled me. I mean, before the trailers I had zero interest in a Godzilla film. I mean, their marketing campaign worked. They got butts into seats and this looks to have a massive OW. So, go WB marketing team. You might want to keep them on board. I actually think had the marketing not misled that I would have enjoyed the film more, but then again, I probably would not have seen the film if the marketing actually sold the film for what it really was.
  16. If the show remains anywhere near as good as Season 2, I see it going well past 5 seasons.
  17. It actually has a shot at over $100M. So, I would say the range is $75-$110M
  18. I am going to add to what you are saying here. Here is the films biggest problem. When it opens Cranston is beyond doubt the lead. He gets emotional. You can tell he loves his family. There's the scene where his wife dies. We become attached him Then, ATJ is introduced. I just figured he was going to tag along. He comes to get daddy who know seems to be going crazy. He follows Cranston into a forbidden zone. They get captured and guess who is being interrogated, that's right Cranston. He gets emotional and shit and has those hard disks, where's his son, in some car doing NOTHING. Watanbe looks at Cranston and thinks man this guy is important and the audience is like yup, that's the lead of the story. Then, shit happens, some stuff falls on Cranston, but he's not dead just yet. He is in bad condition and in a movie when a lead is badly injured they pull through, but then the biggest WTF happens and they are like your daddy is dead. Now, at this point, I thought maybe they were faking his death. I mean, we do get the body bag, but why not just kill him when the shit fell on him. I mean, come on. So, at this point, the audience has no idea who the lead is. At this point, I'm thinking Watanbe. I mean, we've seen him in Nolan films. He seems smart in this movie and has a clue as to what is going on and we see him earlier with that archaeological find. But, nope, we are to follow 2-dimensional ATJ who up to this point has done zero for this film. All he did was try to find daddy just to follow daddy on an adventure. So, he is about to go back home and then shit happens. He finds some army dudes. He joins up with them and still does shit. He somehow survives and everyone else dies. They get him and then he jumps from a plane and at one point he sets fire to some eggs and well that's pretty much it. He also calls his wife and shows some emotion, but not much. It's sad really. The film doesn't know how to juggle its characters. It's like the director/writer decided to kill off Cranston because he is more interesting than Godzilla and they want Godzilla to sort of be the main character even though we don't get Godzilla towards the end to fight off the other monsters and we are told that he might actually be a hero...I mean, wtf... yah...
  19. Except TF, POTC and F&F have far more interesting human characters, especially POTC which has Depp even if the last few of those movies kind of sucked.
  20. The problem wasn't the human focus. I wanted a human focus. The problem was the human focus was beyond horribly executed. We don't care for any of the characters. And, the one we do dies 30 mins into the film. I wish I did care more for the humans, but nope. And, I think Godzilla was in it plenty. The buildup is okay, but the script sucks.
