Disney is a on a crazy streak this decade. PotC4, TS3, Alice in Wonderland, Maleficient, Avengers, IM3, GotG, Cap2, FROZEN! I mean, holy shit, this studio is doing ape shit crazy.

Umm... No. It won't gross less than Tangled.

Did any of you read the article. They are making stories for children, little chapter books. Every franchise does this. Nothing new. Move along. The author of the article was simply blowing things out of proportion.

Pretty much every year the Oscar has gone to a movie that was nominated for BP. So, that probably means it is going to Interstellar. GotG and DotPotA are runner ups though and could potentially upset.

So, Augustus Waters and I have a bet. He is saying Dory will open higher than BvS. Winner gets to choose a new profile pic and sig for the other person for one month.

I don't think he gets it.

I had a feeling it was always going to be big.

Phase 2 After credit scenes IM3: talking to Banner. Awesome! It made the narrative in the film make a lot more sense Thor 2: Mid credit, okay. After credit, also okay. Not terrible though. Liked the GotG tease. Cap 2: Mid Credit: WS, good! After credit, teasing AoU, also good. GotG: Dancing Groot, okay. Howard the Duck, okay So, Phase 2 has provided one really great after credit scene and the rest have been average to good. I personally don't hate any of them, but the average ones don't really stand out either.

Loving these GotG numbers. I really hope $300M can happen.

For some reason, I thought this was a Jumanji Origins film.

I feel like this whole diversity movement is getting a bit overblown. People want more black people in movies and now more women and Hispanics and Asians. It's like nothing satisfies people anymore. All I want is good movies.

So, is Boyhood looking to be the front runner right now?

It's kind of funny to think though we had a bunch of movies open in the 90M's this year.

The two most common ones I get are Johnny Depp and James Franco. Personally, I think I look closest to Franco.

Too late for that. Anyway, the film was okay. Not as terrible as some people make it out to be. Although, I would say it is pretty forgettable. Kind of surprising that film has a PG rating though.

I think this makes around $200M or so. Mal and OZ could do it, so can this.

Poor planning and communication. Yup. That probably explains a lot. This is probably why the Marvel movies have stayed relatively in control budget-wise but why films like POTC went way overboard.

As far the Dory talks goes, I think Dory gets $350M which is actually really good despite what people on here may think. That would be the third highest grossing Pixar film unadjusted.

I'm not sure Jaws should be number one.

As much as I hate to say this, I think Twilight should be further up. I think its influence on YA type movies is huge--perhaps bigger than HP itself as this was the series that proved that adapting YA novels was a thing. AiW should also likely be further up, that film combined with Avatar is responsible for the whole 3D craze. While Avatar showed 3D was possible and for the most part introduced the concept, AiW was the movie that proved Hollywood could milk 3D, and they have since then. I also think it should be noted how the TDKR shootings have led to Previews counting towards the weekend gross. That has had a decent impact on the BO imo, at least when it comes to opening weekends.

Was Bay high or something. What was going on?

They should sell themselves to Disney. Or, they could try making sequels to films that did well. I know they are against sequels, but still, it is a way to keep their brand alive.

So, did anyone else decide to watch Howard the Duck because of this movie?

What amazes me is that people made a big deal when Shrek 4 dropped and POTC4 dropped. But, when TF4 drops, people just shrug it off. It also had a bigger drop than those two other films.
