  1. Except TF, POTC and F&F have far more interesting human characters, especially POTC which has Depp even if the last few of those movies kind of sucked.
  2. The problem wasn't the human focus. I wanted a human focus. The problem was the human focus was beyond horribly executed. We don't care for any of the characters. And, the one we do dies 30 mins into the film. I wish I did care more for the humans, but nope. And, I think Godzilla was in it plenty. The buildup is okay, but the script sucks.
  3. Shockingly, I agree with just about everything you say and usually you find your tastes in movies off.
  4. I'm siding with Baumer for once. This film is shit. I give it a C+. It is only slightly better than TASM2 which I gave a C-. Man, this is a shitty year for movies. Anyway, that's beside the point. Cranston dies. And, he is the only competent actor of the film. I mean, wtf, why kill off a great actor so quickly. There is no real character development. We know the main character's dad died, he has a wife who just sits around being worried the whole time and he has a son. Pretty much all the characters are flat. The action is okay. We see some destruction. I'm reminded of Roland Emerich films, but not as well executed. Godzilla was cool but the fights were rather lacking. The only cool thing was the atomic breathe at the end when he kills the female. I guess my real beef is that every film these days is destruction porn, so if you are going to go down that route at least do it right. C+
  5. Fury will be back. He signed a 9 picture deal, I think.
  6. Hulk deserves another chance. Anyway, TIH would have made just as much as Thor 1 and Cap 1 had it been in 3D. So, its gross is a bit misleading.
  7. This show has gotten better, but it still doesn't wow me.
  8. This show is amazing. People need to watch this and not shitty Agents of Shield (which I also watch. )
  9. Exactly. Although, I would argue that the SH genre really only came to fruition in the 21st century. I think it has at least another 10 to 20 years left, maybe more.
  10. Avatar wasn't shot on IMAX. The film presentation was adjusted for IMAX theaters.
  11. They own the character, just not the rights to make movies of him.
  12. At this point, Sony really need to make a deal with Disney to put Spider-Man in Avengers 3. They have much more to gain than Disney at this point.
  13. Opened on a Tues when viewing was more spread out. The first week of May is a more condensed viewing frame.
  14. With a 90M weekend, I think it ends around $215M. Very sad for a Spider-Man movie though. And, isn't the budget for this north of $250M. Sony is in trouble.
  15. I agree. That was very poor writing. My guess is that an unnamed studio exec combed over the script and made their own stupid changes. This person also probably had a hand with Spider-Man 3.
  16. First, I watched TASM today before seeing this, and what stood out the most was the score. My god, the score in this film is obnoxious and does not sound anything like any Spider-Man score, not the Raimi films or TASM1. It is the worst score I have ever heard for a SH film. Second, this film was a mess. The one thing that intrigued me was missing--the scene in the trailer where Oscorp is spying on Parker. That sounded interesting. I actually came in to this film with that scene on my mind. Third, I thought Electro was poorly developed. His motivations are weak and he just looks weird. Third, the Green Goblin is rushed. I was also upset that Harry became the GG and not Norman. I don't think Norman Osborne is dead. Anyway, the movie felt near complete when Electro was defeated, but then the Green Goblin comes along and that felt even more rushed than Venom in Spider-Man 3. Then, we get Rhino at the end and then that's it. What a mess, and no buildup to Rhino either except that early scene. The only scene I really liked was the opening scene on the plane. That was cool. Everything else was meh. I felt like Webb had no control over the film. It seems Sony has not learned their mistakes and studio meddling is very evident. Sadly, the TV show Arrow is better than this shit. I would say this were on the same level as Spider-man 3, but at least this doesn't have the emo dance scene. I give it a C. Just an average movie. Perhaps, I am being generous.
  17. I'm assuming you are just going by Domestic attendance because WW, Avatar's attendance was pretty monstrous.
  18. True, but it was an obvious nod to Snowden's actions.
  19. To be honest, I just found it to be a very boring film. Yes, it was well-made. But, I did not care for it.
  20. So, am I correct in guessing that Loki's staff has one of the Infinity Gems?
  21. if this hits over $100M OW, I think that means Superman Vs. Batman will end up moving. Even though, it would be the bigger film of the two, you don't want to go against a film like what Cap 2 looks to make.
