  1. That's like saying NY is the capital of USA, Sydney of AUS, Istanbul of Turkey, Toronto of Canada,.... Rio was the capital a long time ago and is not even the biggest city any more.
  2. To get the bragging rights of beating HP, it should beat HP1 adjusted $437m (no 3D).I think it can't beat a single HP WW $796.7m
  3. You are right: US UK Francehttp://www.imdb.com/title/tt1634122/companycreditsbut if ever there was a british movie
  4. I think I found a French movie that had more admission in Germany than in France: The Twelve Tasks of Asterix (1976) Asterix Erobert Rom : 7.198.628 http://insidekino.de.../D1970-1979.htm No 7 in that list Douze Travaux D'Asterix : 2 202 481 http://www.jpbox-off...ilm.php?id=8100 not exactly my favourite Asterix. Having to choose one I would say Asterix And Cleopatra(1968)
  5. As an AVATAR-fan I am only happy that $800m are still a little unrealistic or are they?
  6. It seems to be a coproduction: US Uk Germanyhttp://www.imdb.com/.../companycreditsfor me its mainly Swedish (ABBA)
  7. Titanic 3D is following The Last Song like a shadow. I am curious how the Jubilee tomorrow will affect it.
  8. No SH movie has made more than Thor with $16.5m in Russia. Why should that change suddenly?
  9. In the other thread we found an Austrian comedie with a former ski star (Toni Sailer) that was seen by 33.4 million Sowjets. I think the Tall Blond With One Black Shoe was only a minor french success but a giant success in Germany that made Pierre Richard famous.
  10. So this weeks weekdays were inflated and the friday jumps should be around 100%?
  11. I found french numbers2008 190.1 mln2009 201.1 mln2010 206.5 mln2011 215.6 mlnso the overtaking will probably not happen 2012, as the French have quite a good dynamic themselves.
  12. for THG BOM and BO are predictng 19 and a lot here 20+ so it will do 16-18
  13. Physical copies take a lot of place. I have so many books. I stoped to buy because I have not enough room. My VHS collections fills cupboards. My DVDs stand around in the rooms. Nowhere to go.
  14. There are people that think that Star Wars (meaning SDI (Reagan's strategic defence initiative)) destroyed the Sowjet Union.I think it was Gorbatschow.concerning the movieI found an 1977 article with translation:http://michaelidov.t...ar-of-the-stars
  15. Those concept art pictures remind me more and more on How To Train Your Dragon without the flying dragons. Just substitute the Vikings with Celts, the rebellious son of the tribe's leader with the freedom loving king's daughter. Drawing disproportionally sized people has worked for HttyD why not for Brave? HttyD had a slow start but great legs. Pixar surely trust that its brand name will work. We will see what damages the car accident has left behind.
  16. Only China seems to like Miley less.
  17. I once watched an acrobatic show in HK when an old chinese lady got overwhelmed by the performance. When a girl seemed to fall into the audience she hit her arms very hard into my back and was very embarrased when I turned around to look what had hit me. So I can well believe people get distracted.
  18. I like the movie and I am a Charlton Heston fan. I remember the talk about the Ape-masks costing $1m, a lot of money at that time.
  19. I like japanese animation movies and Ponyo has a lot of poetic elements lacking in American movies.
  20. Are the tastes of Polish people more similar to Russians or to Germans (or incomparible )?
  21. What elements of he first book have not made it into the movie? What is the mere cinema viewer missing?
