  1. Well I hope the #1 movie can at least get 18 million. I think Think Like a Man could still pull that if Five Year Engagement falls apart.
  2. I think they are just not appealing to kids these days anyway they did fine in the box office, although I also hoped it would cross 100 million

  6. THG's selling factor of course is the book series but the story is all about Katniss basically, she's the bona fide lead and had more screentime.
  7. Jennifer Lawrence is top billed.
  8. Everybody in the top 12 but The Lucky One increased from the estimates, that's nice!
  9. I think this will be a hit. It looks appealing to kids. Happy Feet 2 was a weird case I guess, I'm still shocked how badly that flopped.
  10. Can Think Like a Man come near 100 million? The trailer looks appealing in general unlike Tyler Perry movies. And the cinemascore is great.2012 has been great so far, a hit or two every month And mostly the ones we didn't expect to (Contraband,Safe House, Act of Valor and now this unless it crashes on Week 2 like Devil Inside)
  11. I read somewhere that Think Like A Man was supposed to open against John Carter but they decided to move
  12. Just noticed that Wrath of The Titans not in the top 10
  13. Think Like Man's budget is just 12 million, another money earner for Sony this year, they are on a roll!
  14. Oh Chris Brown is in Think Like a Man? Imagine if they released Battleship in the U.S this week, media will feast with Rihanna vs Chris headlines
  15. WOW @ Think Like a Man!April is not that bad I must say, will produce a couple of moderate hits
  16. ^ Twilight series has a huge female fanbase here, THG has a lot of male fans as well although I think there are still more females who are into this
  17. I thought The Lorax would be at 230-250m by now anyway good legs or not, the movie is still a big success. Good luck to Brave, I think it should do well but can't blame people if they are skeptical coz in some way it's a pivotal film for Pixar since all eyes will be on them to know if they can shake off the bad press they received from Cars 2.
  18. A lot of animated films were released in May and did fine in the box office plus it will still enjoy good legs in June when the kids are not in school anymore. It's not a bad release date per se but I think they missed an opportunity to have a stronger overall run when they pulled this out in May. But then there's a possibility that with no major animated/children's movie in 2 months, the appetite will be huge when this opens in June and could have a strong OW that could make up in case the legs wont be good
  19. The Avengers will open next week? How will it do? ;)Let's see some stats first(opening week box office)Thor (April 27 - May 1, 2011) - $1.3 millionCaptain America (July 27 - 31, 2011) - $2.1 millionIron Man 2 (April 28 - May 2, 2010) - $2.3 millionIron Man (April 30 - May 4, 2008) - $1.7 millionOpening week box office of top Hollywood movies last year:Pirates of the Carribean 4 - $1.4 millionKung Fu Panda 2 - $1.9 millionX-Men: First Class - $1.6 millionGreen Lantern - $1.6 millionTransformers 3 - $4.8 millionHarry Potter 7.2 - $3.5 millionBreaking Dawn - $3.2 million***I sense a lot of excitement for this movie and it will likely open to 350-400 screens! Marketing is huge, no competition, no holdovers (Battleship will be on its 3rd week, Lucky One is the only major release this week) plus summer time, I'm predicting a $3 million opening
