  1. Philippines Box Office April 11-15, 2012 Box Office Mojo [*]Battleship - $1,084,761 / 45,984,537 PHP [*](local) Moron 5 and the Crying Lady - $451,885 / 19,156,038 PHP [*]Wrath of the Titans - $337,045 / 14,287,809 PHP [*]Titanic 3D - $177,401 / 7,520,277 PHP [*]The Hunger Games - $84,196 / 3,569,186 PHP [*]Machine Gun Preacher - $9,951 / 421,837 PHP [*](local) Corazon: Ang Unang Aswang - $5,853 / 248,117 PHP [*]John Carter - $3,435 / 145,614 PHP [*]Dr. Seuss' The Lorax - $3,011 / 127,641 PHP [*]The Devil Inside - $286 / 12,124 PHP *** - Strong opening for Battleship! - Solid numbers for Moron 5, could perform like Who's That Girl d and end with 60-70 million - I'm satisfied with Titanic 3D's performance
  2. I'm surprised of the lack of animated/children's movies at this point of time, last year by this time we had Gnomeo, Rango, Hop and Rio. This year The Lorax is the only major release of the genre. They should have move this movie earlier
  3. Nobody is talking about Lockout, it has a small budget but with a poor start I doubt it can match the budget at allJohn Carter will likely end with 69 million or maybe limp its way to 70 million?
  4. This week Battleship was the only new release and next week while there are 4 new releases, 3 of those are just limited (Anonymous,Asian movie Sector 7 and local indie Busong) so The Lucky One basically has no competition at all. Then we have sneak peeks of 21 Jump Street on April 23 & 24 and The Avengers will conquer the country on April 25.American Pie: The Reunion is set for May 2 (as well as Big Miracle & Street Dance 2) and Cabin in the Woods will open on May 9
  5. Yeah not really worth staying after the credits, lol
  6. Three Stooges had favorable reviews from critics I like so I'm glad it's not as bad as the trailer suggests plus it has a lot of actors I like in it so I'm rooting for it to do well in the box office. April is a dry month for releases so I would welcome any breakout hit to keep 2012's momentum going
  7. She wanted to get out of the Disney image so quickly it backfired.

  11. Battleship is the type of movie that works here, visual effects extravaganza
  12. ^ It will likely end up in YouTube anyway
  13. Just got home from the advanced screening of Battleship, entertaining flick. Should do well here
  14. Battleship April 11, 2012 (Advance screening) 8 pm, Greenbelt 3, Makati City, Philippines 100% full (300-400 seats) Trailers American Pie: The Reunion - laughs Bourne Legacy - chatter Madagascar 4 - laughs Snow White and The Huntsman - some chatter The movie Started a little boring but when we get to the sea and the aliens started to arrive, things picked up and while there are scenes where the visual effects were a little too much, overall it was an entertaining movie. GOOD thing it was not in 3D because I don't think 3D will work here and will just cause head aches haha. There are some cheesy stuff here but it works anyway. Kitsch is good in the role, he's more charismatic here than in John Carter. He had good chemistry with the actor who played Captain Nagata. Surprisingly, Rihanna was not that bad at all. Neeson's screen time was short. Crowd responded well, heard some "oohs" and "aahs" during the special effects extravaganza and laughs with the movie's light moments. And oh there's a post-credits scene setting up a sequel B
  15. Good debut for Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close
  16. Oscar nom definitely. Golden Globe awards is just for publicity, part of the Oscar campaign.
  17. The NeverEnding Story- I just want this film to be rediscovered by the audience and if it a 3D format will make it possible, then I'm all for it. It's a lovely, fantasy piece that is almost forgotten
  18. ^ Angel Locsin is pretty good in UnOfficially Yours, her best movie role IMHO.***BATTLESHIP opens tonight in select theaters, regular showing nationwide tomorrow
  19. John Carter is a major disappointment but not a bomb. A flop is more apt term
  20. kayumanggi: what kind of work do you do? You must be swimming with money with that I like my job but compensation is low I'm happy though that in a way I have a side job that connects me to the movie world
  21. I hope Journey 2 won't suffer the same fate of Gnomeo and Juliet and end up with 99.9 mil DOM
  22. Nikki's forte is trashing failures
  23. Titanic 3D opens today! Are you going to watch it kayumanggi?
