Quality wise this summer has just been "meh".IM3 and STID I enjoyed but none of them were great movies.MOS was a mediocre movie and FF6 was terrible (I'm surprised at the good reviews that movie got). I'm hoping and praying that Pacific Rim and the Wolverine are actually good. Need something to lift my weary soul.

Which is just silly.Legs or no legs, any movie that gets to $700M is a success.Which actually makes TASM success even more surprising considering how well it did outside the states.
Which isn't surprising considering the way it was hyped on the forums, other superhero movies derided and the violent reaction to criticism of the movie. Not to mention the fact that some folks said it was going to be the "best blockbuster of the year".
Apart from Batman Begins, Star Trek, TASM, Incredible Hulk and now Superman, have there been other big budget re-boots?(Not re-makes mind you as those are different).
I still don't get why IM3 divided audiences so much.It had good performances, good action (the airplane rescue scene beats every action sequence I've seen this summer as the most breathtaking) and sharp humor (which I personally love).
