  1. will the general audience like this as much as Arrival? I think I remember the GA particularly liking Ex Machina when I thought it would be divisive. Does Annihilation have the potential to NOT be divisive?
  2. commitment not to type it all out it all comes down to how fast you can be with a calculator. said a few days ago was going to do theater counts and show the predicted totals by next Sunday.
  3. it is pretty straightforward stuff. a math teacher would yell at me and tell me to stop doing that. it would take a long time to type it all out, so I made a double sided sheet for the intent of scanning it and sharing. I am sick of typing stuff out on here.
  4. Is the Tuesday number going in this thread or another one? I will do the theater counts later which will give accurate predictions for next weekend. Then I will show those and have a fair prediction of what the totals will look like come next Sunday.
  5. I am not sure, but if I qualify to receive anything for my Black Panther OW prediction, please donate it to the next in line. Keanu??
  6. yes yes. Thank you. it is all ratios of Marvel vs Marvel grosses. but still, it is like....last year Spider-Man crawled its way up the all time list and every dollar was counted. Then one year later, the avg ticket price just JUMPS UP again and wow! If a movie is to match Spider-Man from last year, now it has to gross 342. I am just whining. Thanks for that informative reply. I usually type first, and think and edit later. =)
  7. TOTAL (90 MOVIES): $285,948,779 +103.6% 38,344 -6,958 $7,457 This weekend had 8,000 new theater counts come in and lost a net of 7,000. so about 15,000 theater counts from movies last week were lost. New product this week will be about 7,000 incoming. The overall theater count number for next weekend should be at least 40,000 so there will probably be a net loss of no more than 5,000. Probably some expansions for Phantom Thread etc. too!
  8. I hate these inflations... We are already bumping Spider-Man up to 342? Does the money we spend to a movie even count (towards the overall gross), or are all these numbers just made up?
  9. Nolan should do Dark Knight 4. The plot.... the atom bomb exploded over the bay. Nuclear fallout is inevitable. The people of Gotham are safe but must relocate. The rest of the city is a swamp/wasteland. The Dark Knight Returns
  10. Mr. Wayne's will was not amended to reflect his more modest estate... Nonetheless, there are considerable assets to dispose of...
  11. If I sent in a list, Mother! might would probably have jumped up a couple spots, but same with Thor so who knows... and Logan would have made my top 5 and Get Out would have missed my list.
  12. I am giving it an A but I did not care for it all that much and I was not feeling good when I saw it. It reminds me of Wonder Woman and Thor where you have to suspend disbelief from the start. I am more fond of science backed superhero origins.
  13. i am so lost without Ferdinand's theater counts. I cannot crunch any numbers until tomorrow night because of this.
  14. after Coco blew up in Mexico and the hot start it had in America, I am a little disappointed it did not cruise past Moana. i remember seeing above exceptional word of mouth
  15. I would say about 5,000 of this weeks theater counts will be removed to make way for new product next week. 500 will probably go towards Fifty Shades. Play around with those numbers and there might be good holds for Shape of Water, the Post, and Three Billboards.
