  1. Really? If things stay the same: BvS is essentially going to rule April next year. The Jungle Book and The Huntsman are big movies for Disney and Universal as well. It looks like a bigger April than this year atleast.
  2. Well now some people here are starting to doubt that the May record will go down. If May isnt going down, than the rest of the year has no shot. July is a no. August is a no. So that means October and September have to do it in order to have a shot. It's not likely.
  3. Into the Woods was a fairytale musical ensemble. Depp wasnt the star, if anything Meryl Streep was. Depp is a draw in certain things but i think audiences have definitely gotten tired of the quirky persona. Which is the reason why Mortdecai flopped.
  4. Do you think Lionsgate will try the November Hunger Games slot? Summer 2016 is pretty packed right now.
  5. I agree that Avengers could miss but not by much. Star Wars will open with probably the same, if not more than F7. JW is a question mark for me though. Im feeling Godzilla like opening with better legs.
  6. I think some fans just get a bit sensitive. I wouldnt be surprised if Avengers two has a decrease, I've heard many people say that they are more excited for CA3 than Avengers 2 which is why i dont think the studio should have announced some of those details yet. But oh well.
  7. Woman in Gold had a nice debut. This proves that Helen Mirren is somewhat of a draw for older audiences. Good for her.
  8. Presidents Day weekend and Easter Weekend were proven spots prior to 2015 though..... MLK weekend is the one that's being highlighted in recent years because movies like Ride Along and now American Sniper..
  9. The whole cast should be thankful. With the exception of Vin Diesel, none of them have had significant career boosts from this.
  10. Its fitting that F7 is going to break the record since it really started this trend of April blockbusters. Universal has to be ecstatic, its probably the fastest growing big 7 studio.
  11. That little alien did the trick, kids love cute sidekicks; it had nothing to do with Parsons or Rihanna, some people are really overestimating those fanbases. Kids dont give a fuck about Big Bang Theory.
  12. Yeah. its much more kid-friendly than Cinderella. It has the cute little aliens. But most people were doubting that it could hit 30m, so no revisionist history.
  13. http://deadline.com/2015/03/bradley-cooper-beyonce-a-star-is-born-directing-debut-warner-bros-1201381195/
  14. Pan should move to august, right now there aren't any family type films there and I guess the biggest competition would be fantastic four. It's looking at a sub-30 opening in July if it doesn't move.
  15. Yeah Lionsgate already go their money from overseas, they're really only concerned with domestic. I cant say im surprised by the tepid numbers. This is a midrange YA franchise like The Maze Runner. Its not a failure.
  16. This looks like fun for the family. Still needs some great marketing though because MI 5, Pan, Minions and Ant-Man will be big competition.
  17. 2015 has been sort of a mixed bag so far, it looks like when something hits, it really takes off. On the other hand the bombs have been very bad too.
